Just picked up this welder open box item at Harbor freight I guess the original price is about $569 I got it for $289 everything included and works perfectly fine hell of a deal !
Ответитьmy titanium 170 the gun won't spool,,, spool motor doesn't work. Just clicks when I hit the red button on the gun.
ОтветитьI do a mobile tire shop and right now I can straighten and paint wheels.
If I heat first can I weld hairline cracks in aluminum wheels / rims with this welder?
I believe the thickest point of the average rim is 8 mm.
Thanks in advance
Can this welder be used in 110 outlets
ОтветитьGreat review that covered everything I need to know. I noticed that the 240 v setting appears to have less spatter than the 120v setting. Is that typical with all welders? Definitely appreciate not having distracting music playing in the background - it allows me to focus more on what you are saying.
ОтветитьI know this is an old video just wondering if anybody knows do you have to use the gas to weld or will it weld without using gas thinking of buying one to repair foot pegs on a dirt bike
ОтветитьChinese junk, buy an American made welder for goodness sake.
ОтветитьI was given the flux 125 for my birthday 4 years ago and it's been my full time welder since then. I just stepped up to the mig 170 because welding became my main occupation and it's been better than the Lincoln I used at work by a significant margin.
ОтветитьWill a TIG17 Lift Torch work with the Titanium 170 MIG Welder?
ОтветитьSo, how is the titanium welder holding up?
ОтветитьGlad I ran across you channel. Got the 170 for x-mas haven't gotten it out yet but now I'm even more anxious after your review. Thanks.
ОтветитьHello Tim I was wondering what you think about the titanium auto darkening welding helmets are thay worth it I have heard that you shouldn't buy a cheap helmet because thay can destroy your eyes but I got the 60$ one it seems pretty decent but I was wondering what your opinion is? thank you very much.A big fan BTW keep up the great work
ОтветитьIn reference to the unit auto switching 120/240 you stated " I don't understand why it cant do it itself". Being in product design and development most my life, I can tell you, they could, but then they would have to charge you for it. They probably reused components or entire circuit boards shared from another welder or other HF products so they get the economics of purchasing scale, reduced costs for BOM materials including sourcing, storing, testing, QA , failure analysis and most notably assembly/production. HF also then has common parts to use for all products to negate supply issues on any one, it goes on and on. But most of all, like anything else, thats the way they first made it, which was 100% driven by costs and "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" as that costs alot of money to rev a product, test it, track it, and monitor it all its life. Great review, thank you for it.
ОтветитьYou might want to mention the gases you used. GJ thx
Ответитьin harbor freight RN watching this. its on sale for 280. would be a good replacement for my flux 125
Ответитьthank you so much for your videos
ОтветитьYour courses look awesome Tim! Thanks for everything I’ve learned already on your channel 😉
Ответить🇺🇸👍👍👍👍👍👍🙋♂️🙋♂️
ОтветитьHi, mine couldn't weld anything. It would just throw hot spark and making messes but nothing stick to the base metal. Could it be I've defective machine? Bad cabling like ground? It also sound more like a fire cracker than smooth sizzling sound. I tried it with stainless E308L and 71gts flux core .030/120V. Could you help please?
ОтветитьWill this last for years of light use?
ОтветитьHey Bud I gotta say I really appreciate your videos, I've been watching for a while but I just this moment but your courses, looking forward to going through them
ОтветитьWhat should I set the inductance dial to on a titanium 170 for 18 Guage 304 stainless, and do I have to prepare the weld surface for polished 304?
Ответить🇺🇸🇺🇸👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
ОтветитьIs this machine considered a no wire welder? I apologize ahead of time just looking into starting to weld need to know the difference
ОтветитьWait.... Why are you pushing on mild steel.......
ОтветитьAs far as a long term review, has this machine held up over time? I’m looking at getting one in the next couple months but long term reviews are hard to find.
ОтветитьWould you mind sharing some of your favorite mig and fluxcore wire brands?
ОтветитьHave you tried this with dual shield?
ОтветитьWhat settings would you run on this welder to weld a steel roll cage 1 3/4" round tube and .090 material?
ОтветитьYou're awesome 👏🏻
ОтветитьWhat's the thickest metal you can weld with this? I've only used Miller machines at the shops I've worked at doing a ton of exhaust work over the years. I'm looking for one to use at home for bui my xj up. The frame kit and adding trusses to my diffs are my main concern. I'll need to weld sheet metal as in body panels too and was wondering if this machine would handle all that
ОтветитьGreat review. Right to the point, to the job. Thanks.
ОтветитьHi Tim, I hope you can answers a few questions for a Welding Rookie. What is the difference between the Titanium MIG 140 and the Titanium MIG 170? Can you only use the gas if you have it plugged into 240 volts? What brand of wire of wire do you use.
Thank you for the information so I can make my decision. And I like your videos.
Hi. Great video, thank you. Is there a dual voltage flux core welder under $300?
Ответитьnice video!
would you recommend this welder for 1/4" (on 220v} for plating suspension components? ive got an off-road project i wanna DIY some modifications for and itll consist of alot of 1/4" lap joints and such. seems like it would run fine but i want to know what your opinion is. thanks!
TY Tim, very nice review (subscribed). The 140 is nice, but the 170 has additional options with the 240 outlet - albeit at a higher cost. Your video is a big help in understanding this stuff.
ОтветитьDamn I need gas... These welds look great compared to what I'm running with Flux core
Ответить300 & 19 usually where I run mine at
Ответитьwait a minute I didn't know that that roller had a difference between flux-core and regular wire .. I thought it was just o 35 or 030 .. that's probably one of the problems I was having with the other one . a little bit to get it to feed using flux
Ответитьyeah that wire that comes with it and the wire at Harbor Freight is dogshit !... I was getting so pissed off I almost threw the weather across the yard last night . it was like trying to solder without flux .. the sh-t would ball up and then fall off in chunks .. so today I'll be grinding that s*** off
ОтветитьPLEASE HELP???
I bought this welder and it seems to use up my C25 shielding gas very fast. Does anyone else have this issue? If so how do you fix it? Can i turn of the pre/post flow to reduce gas usage? Should i use a different gauges?
PLEASE HELP!!!
Do you have a cheat sheet for settings on this welder? I can keep to get mine looking and sounding right on 3/16 , 1/8, and 1/4
ОтветитьWould have been better if you used wire it came with.
ОтветитьTim, great review on the welder! As far as consumables go...do you know if tips from another brand fit this guy? I haven't been able to find that information anywhere online.
ОтветитьWhat kind of things can you build with this? I wanna buy one just for a hobby to build things around the house and yard, maybe later if I get good I'd like to make things to sell with it. Not trying to get rich but just have a hobby and make a little money om the side
ОтветитьI’ve got this machine and I’m having trouble with it having a wire feed delay when I squeeze the trigger and when I let off it continues to let out gas for about half second. Is that normal or is something wrong with mine?
Ответитьdid you use same gas for the steel to the aluminum ?
ОтветитьDumb question, but... If I want to weld with gas, do I just need an argon tank if I buy this welder?
ОтветитьOn this welder if your using .035 wire how do you set the drive roll? Do you want the size that’s marked on the drive roll facing out or in?
Ответить
