The great thing about coffee brewing is, it's an adventure and you should try different ways! It's not one technique fits all.

Liked the video!

Why even bother with a french press, using your method?. One could make what you just did, in an old pot.

So, what's your purpose for a French Press?

A non-French national teaching maybe French national and other how to use the French press properly. He could have just uses coffee filter if he was not going to use French press filter as it was done by the French. Otherwise maybe he could have just used instant coffee.

Question, why does this process make a difference over the traditional method of plunging? The steel mesh screen should stop any disturbed grounds from entering the liquor above the screen. If it doesn't maybe the grind is too fine or your mesh is distorted at the perimeter. Or have i missed something ? Thanks.

I love my coffee in the morning, but who has time for this? I barely have one eye open. I put 2 scoops of coffee beans in the grinder, fill up my 5 cup drip machine and let her rip. Thank you for sharing. A job well done! 😀🥳

Dang! What a cosmic way to fiddle-dee-dee a simple cup of coffee. I probably could make it through this procedure if I chewed 4 ounces of the beans while waiting. 🤔 I Decided that unless I develop COPD this method requires patience I don't usually have in the AM before 4 cups of expresso. 😬😳

Bro, you have a sick kitchen setup with that panaramic window just below th cabinets but then you build a privacy fence RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT!!?? WHY?

Do you not like your neighboors or something? lol! I have to know why you would ruin such a cool kitchen window like that.

Great video, Love from the USA

Brewing it for 4 minutes without a cover...on your way to iced coffee. Put the plunger in and retain the heat!

This morning was the first time for me, and I loved it, feels like youre getting closer to the coffé beans, it's hard to describe in words. For the moment, I do not grind my own coffé beans, YET, but it WILL surely be my next step, i used coarsely ground coffé beans (Zoega Presso). I've tried some different ways of doing it since waking up this morning, just letting the plunger stay up all the time and then once with it pressed down but tbh I dunno if I noticed any difference, always good idea tho to clean up the mess on top of the brew like you did. Thanks for showing us YOUR way of doing it, I picked up a few things that I liked, so big thanks to you for helping out and inspiration etc 👍

So if you're not going to use the press, what's the point of buying a French press?

The only important trick with the French press is to stir the liquid after 3-4 minutes, wait another minute and press it then down. This is easily done, because the coffee particles will have meanwhile been sunken down, and you don't stir anything up again by pressing it down ...

What was the French Press designer thinking of, what a twit. Could have done it with a jar and a hand held fine mesh strainer and two spoons.

I've never had bitter coffee from my press. Push it or not push it. No difference as long as the coffee grains are seperated from the coffee. Perhaps you have a cheap press with one of those cheap Chinese made plastic filters? I paid out for my press. All European made stainless steel. Also, use high quality beans.

I made 2 cups this morning at 4am my normal wake up time. I do not have a scale but do have a conical grinder. I ground course but the coffee was not a strong as I like. Will increase the grinding time and see how it goes. I have always pressed the plunger all he way down. Great if you like chewing coffee grounds.

The plunger is the whole fucking point of the french press. No, not pushing down the plunger is not gonna get coffee grounds in your coffee, that is a load of bullshit and that's not how it works, there is a strainer in the plunger and that's why it's called a plunger in the first place, it's close enough to the sides that the coffee grounds will have no place to go and will be trapped under the strainer when you pour it. don't take the lid off to pour it though

I think the correct Ozzie term starts with "wa"..... or is that British...
Not sure what they are teaching Down Under about coffee, but as sure as grinds I think you have some in a delicate place mate.... It is not about the fancy tools either.
On the other hand, the rest of us in the REAL world actually have perfected the French Press method quite comfortably and with great finesse.
I see that you omit to tell the viewers how to test the success ratio of your extraction......

My concern is that after we drink the coffee;how to wash the French press without pouring the coffee grounds to the sink?the drainage pipe might get clogged….

That’s why I use coffee dripper with paper filters…

Oh for goodness sake, the coffee he's brewed at about 50 seconds in is transparent--it looks like weak tea (i.e., dirty water). A few seconds later he states that it should be made with coarse ground beans! (I'm a strong coffee guy; fine ground for me; this video is not for me.)
