With 7800 hours in 7DTD I only now realise how lucky I was to start at A17 =)

I find it sad that my deep pit base full of electric traps is half as efficient. Then a small kill base you can make in 2 min. I use to make pits to bedrock for the zombie fall dmg. But then they removed fall dmg and now they made bedrock closer to surface. witch im not a fan off. i loved my deep underground bases. Also the stop focus on multiplayer (PVP) made me sad. Most fun i had was on a pvp server. The skill change im not a fan off.. Now im forced to go and do quests and shit to get better at mining ? im a builder player i find that so anoying.

Yooo I really loved the mold system during alpha 6! I wish some mods readded a few of these features, like the minecraft recipe menu, the molds, and the desth animations and ragdolls for zombies from aplha 1.

I've just started to play this game a week ago, love it!

Its been almost 10 years and this game is still in alpha!?

I started playing with Alpha 13 in 2015 or 2016 and I wasn't exactly thrilled haha. I liked the idea but the graphics and all weren't my taste and I also was new to PC gaming so I kinda skipped it for several years until about a month ago. Now I'm just piling up the hours.

I've been playing since Alpha 5. It's amazing how far this game has come and continues to grow and evolve. Yeah it's buggy and isn't that well optimized, but I've certainly gotten my money's worth out of it.

I figured out how to go back and play alpha 5 on steam. Yes! Older than 8.8 which was still extremely fun but wasn't as old as I always wanted. So cool to see the original 7dtd versions.😎

i spent like 6 months playing alpha 1 daily it was the first survival game i play and it was cracked so i was stuck on alpha 1 and i only upgraded the version when alpha 15 got released and i downloaded alpha 13 so i jumped from alpha 1 to 13 and then alpha 15 then 19 then 20 it is literally the best survival hoard crafting game ever existing

I remember Alpha 5 or 6 when zombies ran inside POI’s. Scary stuff back then especially Diersville. Damn dogs.

Still playing on ps4, i know its never gonna happen but a update or port to a new version would be nice

Alpha 14 was when I played the game on ps4 and I've still been on that lol

I loved all 7 days to die versions.

First played with Alpha 5, game was buggy, looked and run like dogshit and it was pretty fun to play with a friend or two. Last played with Alpha 10, because of the character creator but didn't stick around long. Saw it again recently with the Alpha 20 and it looks greatly improved so downloading once again after so many years.

I love this game!
The funny thing is, after almost 9 years, it's still on Early Access...

I miss the creepy baby noises on start up

I started in A16, and despite the janky graphics, bare-bones mechanics and bugs, it quickly ended up high on my list of the best zombie games I'd ever played. I will admit I was not a fan of the sweeping changes A17 brought, as I preferred being able to gain experience + skills by just working, whereas A17 made it so your primary source of XP was grinding zombies.

I actually ended up not playing for a while, but got back into the game in late A18 and have stuck with it up to the new A20 update, and I'm really enjoying the game again. It's crazy to look back on how primitive the older versions of the game were by comparison, and how far the game has come. I can only imagine what Beta or full release will look like, and I honestly hope we get there someday.

I started around Alpha 9. The incremental improvements with the graphics has been interesting, going from the 'fog' ahead of you to 'distant land', then 'distant POI', and now even player-made stuff is 'distant'-viewable. Once in a while I reload older alpha versions, because there's something about the 'fog' that just feels different, and now nostalgic, in a 'had to be there' sense. I look forward to what is to come, but will never forget what fun I had. There are no other games I can say that about

Soo devs add a new ones funny features and then removes it in another update... all the time - good we have mods

It's pretty impressive how little the game has actually changed. The most they've done is update the graphics every update. Most of the things that are in the game today are almost the exact same as they we're years ago. I can't lie, i play this game a lot, but it's just stale and they've not added all that much in a while.

Those were the days when you could loot a toilet and find a human turd and throw it at your enemies

I got the game a5 or 6 and love it. I think around a16 the levelling up system was much better than it is now, I like getting skills by doing not by choosing. I like the way the fun pimps play around with ideas, the cliff mining was a fun idea, the maps and the map layouts have improved out if sight, I don't miss the central city with the various biomes radiating out in a kind of hex map separated by water, the new maps are great. I remember when the spiders used to walk around in pairs and you would have to snipe them just because they have always been a pain. I liked when the spiders could climb too, made base building interesting. I get really annoyed with the fun pimps for removing stuff to try and stop players using them a certain way, ok the door stacking exploit really did have to go but some stuff just seems to get petty. I think a lot of the early player buildings showed a lot more ingenuity, people experimented more, now a lot of these buildings just don't work and that is a loss for the game imho. Still, now with all of the new shapes this ingenuity may return.

I'm with 7D2D from, like.. Alpha 5/6. This is one of few games that I completely accept that it is still in Alpha state. Still evolving, never ending :)

Things I'm glad they got rid of....hornets & zombies smelling food etc.

I've just started playing the game in the A20, it's crazy to see how it where so bare and bones back then.

Man this was a blast from the past I got many good memories I first got it in alpha 2 my dad bought it for me so we could play together my first base was in one of those shop bricks buildings then from alpha 5 the farm was my base until to alpha 9 when random gen I think it was released I should play navezgane again I haven’t played it sense alpha 10 alpha 11 my pc broke so my dad bought a new one I got he’s old pc but I could get the stand alone version so I got it on steam so I just played on survivalist difficulty and just survived to alpha 15 I didn’t play much of 16 I got burnt out and did play it untill the end of alpha 19 my dad haven’t played it sense alpha 13

I started watching alpha 6 started playing alpha 8 and can remember when the mini bike and bears where added. I wish we could see food and water on the sides again.

Started playing this game during alpha 5 when I was in middle school! I’m a few months away from graduating college and I’m still playing it! It’s amazing how far the game has come!

🤔...I started playing 7D2D towards the end of Alpha 18. So I can say A.19 is my favorite since it's the only Alpha I ever really played...🤷‍♂️

I started this game in A6 region but didn't care for it very much. Left it in the back burner untill A16 which remains my favorite

More than 8 years of developing a game and Im still getting 30 fps and stutters when doing a tier 5 quests on my RTX and i5 10th gen, anyway I enjoy playing this game

I had 3 favorite alphas. 4, 9 and 14. I say 9 not 7, because they almost got everything they brought in with 7 fixed. When they changed over to Unity, I was done until 14. 15 hit and we all know how broken that was, so I stopped playing again. Gave 16 a shot and wasn't impressed. Now with 20, I'm still not impressed. Yes, it looks way better than ever, and yes, it's probably a great release, but, I'm finally done. They've removed biomes that I really enjoyed over the years, and this new tiered loot system per biome, is just a joke.

I really miss the original horde mechanic and how in the early alphas, sometimes you couldn't even get a 5 minute break, before there'd be another horde on your butt. But, I'm glad that a lot of people are loving a20. I still enjoy watching people play though.
