I've heard that you can give someone anything during a conversation and they'll take it without question. I haven't tried it out yet though.

It's funny, I want to take the pressure off of people when I ask for things so I do the reminding them they don't have to do the thing automatically. I don't want to pressure someone into a decision.

...this seems dangerously close to encouraging people to use Gish galloping. And I'm not sure that mirroring is much better.

Wow I tend to mirror people a lot but as soon as I notice it I thought it was just me being weird, I'm glad that it's not the case!

I was actually the one who was been tricked by the last of these psychological tricks oop

Something I've done to both get to know someone better and get them to like me a little more is I try and center the conversation around them. I ask about them, how their day was, what their favorite movie is, what they've been up to, their hobbies, passions, job, etc. People like talking about themsevles and are more inclined to people who let them talk about themselves.

I don’t know if I’m a psychologist or I just did all of these tricks without even realizing it was a thing.

My mother figure always tried to manipulate my sister and I by guilt tripping us. I was the lucky one who quickly saw through her words and actions. I stopped doing whatever she wanted when she did that. My sister was not so fortunate, and she ended up as a people pleaser

I’ve done the talking one since I was a little kid and probably even as a toddler because I’ve always talked fast
