Why didn’t you tell them that auto iso pretty much always uses the highest iso you could ever imagine using
ОтветитьThank you your video makes so So much sense I am a beginner photographer. I’ve been following Your channel very helpful
ОтветитьShutter speed at 1/8000 🤔?
Ответитьthank you
ОтветитьVery detailed and informative video Tony. Helped me figure out my Aperture settings on the a6500. Awesome video. Thanks for sharing.👍
ОтветитьThat wrecked what I thought I knew. 😂
ОтветитьMr. Tony I am not good in specs. I been taking photos for over 35 yeats. Some for money some for hobby.. Like you said in the passed, that they have weak points. My experience is learning your equipment which takes time to actual learn how to take sharper pictutes. Thanks for your videos because you really care about the customer
ОтветитьMany times I end up taking a few shots to test out settings. Especially with fast primes where I'm trying to get the widest aperture possible.
ОтветитьGreat video!! So much info! Wow!!👍
ОтветитьAwesome video and commentary 👌
ОтветитьThis stuff is so interesting! I'm finally starting to understand what you're talking about. Very cool! Just figured out how to toggle between aperture and shutter speed in manual as well. Thanks for the tutorial!
ОтветитьTony you are incredible in explaining, I am trying to grasp all that info....WOW
ОтветитьThanks !
ОтветитьThere is often a debate that pros use manual no matter what they are capturing; birds, portraits or sports. I am glad to see you select both aperture and shutter priority and set IOS to auto and let the camera works its magic. I feel too many pros think anyone who goes off manual is amateur. I feel manual is perfect for stills and landscapes, but wildlife demands more use of aperture and shutter priority settings. Thoughts?
ОтветитьYou are very Kind Professional Photographer !!!
ОтветитьI liked the info but please don’t talk so fast
ОтветитьOk.. so what is any of everything you just said?... 🤣 I’m lookin at my camera like. Oh so it’s not just point and shoot huh!...
ОтветитьInteresting and very very educational. A great learning experience. Your pictures are just great . The photos of the birds are fantastic . Thanks
ОтветитьI ran into some issues recently with my D500. I was trying to get a particular sunset shot through some beautiful foliage and trees. The metering made ISO, Aperture and Shutter calculations moot. If I shot at the beautiful colors of the clouds, the foliage went near black and I lost all the colorful glow. If I shot the foliage to get the glow, the sky got washed out and near white.
For me, what I want, is to shoot exactly what I see through the viewfinder. Is that even possible?
I want to by 85 mm prime lens for my nikon d5300. Pl suggest f1.8 or f 1.4
ОтветитьSir, you r on the top of world in all aspect of photography world
ОтветитьAs a general comment on photography videos, some presenters think we all have expensive equipment and overlook basic information on the setting up of a camera to learn to take great pics...
ОтветитьThanks Tony....great video for better understanding settings...love your work...
ОтветитьI like the way you explained things. Watching the video, I realized, I use the same basic rules as you do most of the time, though I also see how I could improve even more, so thank you for all the advices. There's never too much of useful information for me, but I'm an IT guy and work with lots of data on a daily basis, so I swallow that easily :-) I also like your other videos too, so thanks for them and keep doing what you do, the way you do! :-)
ОтветитьWhy go full auto? At the very least anyone should be able to set aperture for depth of field.
ОтветитьDo you use spot ever?
ОтветитьU nailed the detail...but it's still confusing for a person who never touch a real camera before.
ОтветитьOnly 3 main things to learn but it sounds very hard. APERTURE, SHUTTER SPEED, ISO. how hard can they be? Very hard for a newbie.
ОтветитьA lot for a newbie to absorb.
ОтветитьHow much you set maximum iso?
ОтветитьI am glad to know that you tend to use Auto ISO even in Manual Mode. It makes me feel like less of a bad photographer. 😂
ОтветитьTony, another great video with exceptionally useful information. One thing you didn’t mention in your settings is the metering mode. Can we assume you are using some sort of matrix metering? The metering mode obviously plays a critical, defining roll in the final exposure captured by your other three settings, and therefore plays a role in the exposure compensation adjustments that you so eloquently described as being sometimes essential. Depending on my subject matter, the metering mode, matrix, spot, etc. is the first thing I set before moving on to the other three essential settings.
ОтветитьMessing with my camera the other day and made a discovery.. I was taking photos at about 1.5 feet away.. Took a picture and everything was fine then out of curiosity I changed the pixels from 16 to 5 megapixels just to see what would happen.. What I noticed was that it appeared to change the depth of field because I got more bokeh when the camera was set for 5 megapixels.. Interesting.. Maybe it had to do with pixel size - not sure but it was an interesting discovery..
ОтветитьBrilliant, really helpful. Thank you.
ОтветитьSo when you're talking about choosing your shutter speed and aperture and letting the camera choose the ISO, are you shooting in manual mode? Bc in the beginning of the video you mention shooting in Aperture Priority mode. In Aperture Priority, you are only choosing the aperture, right? I'm asking because I put my camera into Aperture Priority mode and it wouldn't let me adjust the shutter speed (well, at least I don't think it would).
ОтветитьHey tony...I'm trying to learn portrait photography...the pic of the two little girls...where would I focus so that both would be in focus? Should I concentrate on placing the focus on one eye and at f8 would both be in focus?
ОтветитьMake some money with your photography. Goto this link; @t
ОтветитьI notice that in photos u showed here, when the "f#" is low and background is all blurred.
ОтветитьThat's so much information. Will i ever remember them? Great demo though.
ОтветитьSoo... how do read the histogram? You mentioned it quite a few times. Love your vids! Just started digital photography in Feb, learning lots by watching and studying your vids.
ОтветитьHow people deal with auto-iso in manual mode always trying to over expose the shots? Any tips would be a great help! (Panasonic dmc-gx7) I basically want an exposure compensation dial in manual mode to just push the iso up and down for my currently set fstop and shutter speed. That way if it's over exposed and I dial the brightness down it will lower the iso to fix the issue.
ОтветитьLot of info, but when you have some experience, it is easy to follow it. Always good videos, motivating!
ОтветитьI appreciate the way you explain the variables and settings/learning how to understand photography and what you do when you begin to run into specific obstacles. You have definitely helped me merge and understand all of the information that I've learned about photography so far. Thank you.
Ответитьvery well said sir
aperture mode in my case is my goto setup and 4.x - 8.x f-stop
Your videos are great. I don't know any photographers near me to learn from. Thanks for all the help yo. We all need a mentor.
