I've pretty much given up on my budgied after a year of nothing. They run as soon as I enter the cage you would think after a year they would be use to me and know my voice I talk to them all the time. I just give up

i only have the one big cage that my 2 baby budgies live in... i dont have a seperate cage so should i wait until i do to start really training and bonding?

i got my 2 new baby budgies yesterday. the couple i got them from have over 500 in an aviary and from birth they are acostomed to touch and being on fingers and hands. my 2 baby budgies had been "hand tamed" and i was told to let them out after a few hours and to catch them and put them on my finger a few times until they stayed and to finish the session their. i didnt feel comfortable doing it since ive learned from your videos and others to not let them out until theyre tamed inside first.... well i did it as i wanted them to stetch their wings but we all got abit too excited and it wasnt a great session..... ive decided im going to to take it much slower and more naturally as i dont ever want them frightened again. im currently just talking with them from outside the cage and have placed my hand inside the cage as you instructed and im going to make certain i give them the best lifes and experince possible.

I used to have this budgie named Skye but she passed away in August this year. I've had her since 2022. She would step on my finger sometimes but stopped after a while. I have a green budgie called Olivia but she sadly isn't tame. Perhaps I should try this.

My mom has 9 budgies in the same cage and they never get to go out of the cage. It started off as 2 and then they kept having babies so all the budgies are family. Is 9 birds in the same cage with no time out of the cage not good for the birds? Also, how should I tell my mom that 9 budgies in the same cage is not a good idea? What options could I present her with to maybe open her mind to doing something different with the budgies?

I feel so guilty because i wasn't able to bond with my budgie when i got him because of family issues and stress, but i definitely going to start bonding and building trust now, hopefully it goes well, itll take time but i want him to be happy, im also going to get him a bigger cage sense the one hes in now is pretty small. Hopefully things get better! :) ❤

Any advice? My budgie often flies on top of the kitchen cupboards and doesn’t go back to the cage. So sometimes I have to grab her to put her back. What would you advice to do? Because you taught me it makes them loose the trust in you.

When I gone closer to it then I talked to it and they were not scared anymore

I got 4 budgies 3 that can fly and 1 that can’t
The one that can’t fly it only took like a week for it to trust me because it had to rely on me to get to the spots the other budgies were at because it was somewhere they flew to for example a lamp that’s to high up kind of funny how he just runs up to me and jumps into my hand to help him
Still working on the others trust

The landscaper. Is doing my entire condo grass & the loud noise is terrifying my parakeet while trying to my finger to his little feet, I'm 100percent unable to make this less terrifying for him n trying to tame him is out of the question. I wish you guys could tell me what to do...wish me luck..😮

It’s the first day after getting my new budgie and this morning she was flying away from my hand in her cage but I did the 5 min hand thing and taught her to step up on the perch and now she let me pet her and take her out of the cage on the perch!
