Every so often, this movie comes up in some thread somewhere, and I feel compelled to watch the clips again

This movie sucks ass and it’s boring as hell and it’s really bad

I feel like I’m missing something or just fundamentally misunderstanding the way that people are experiencing this film

From my perspective, this movie makes absolutely no sense, the acting is bad, the writing is bad, the pacing is doll, and the ending was so anticlimactic

I cannot understand why people enjoy this movie

"He's not like you. He's not even like me."
"Nah, he don't talk as much as you, I give him points for that."
That last line always makes me laugh.

Carson is being made out as a blabbermouth but the way he scoff when Moss asks about cutting deals with Sugar should have given Moss the incentive to listen closely.

This scene is all about situational irony. Carson criticizes Lleuwellyn for not realizing that Sugar could be coming for him. However, at the time Sugar is actually tracking Carson.

"No no, Youre not cut out for this"

Its insane cause he is the only one able to have even the slightest of chances, he wounded Anton and kinda damaged his pride a bit making him treat those wounds in pain, as carson said "you seen him? And you aint dead? Huh..." Just speaks volumes

If llewelyn isnt cut out for it, then imagine your chances, anton is an absolute menace to say the least, apathy at its apex, just what a hitman is

Detail: when talking about vietnan he wear off his hat. Kind of a reverance, or respect to the man who served.

"You are not cut out for this. No, no,no. You don't understand." Love it. Llewelyn figures it out about an hour later - that Carson is right - and calls the hotel. But by then ... too late.

If Llewelyn (who survived multiple attempts on his life) isn’t cut out for it and lasted far longer than Carson Wells, I’d hate to imagine how well I would do… I’d probably trip walking through the drug deal gone wrong parking lot and accidentally shoot my self with my own rifle. 😂

Woody Haralson's dad is an actual convicted hitman. He has visited him a few times. Woody isn't just acting in this scene. He knows. He knows the difference in someone's eyes between a cold blooded killer and a normal person. Which is why he was perfect for this role in this movie. because he wasn't just describing Anton. He was describing his own father.

I believe the point Carson was trying to make when asking Llewellyn what welding he is good at was emphasising that Llewellyn was an expert at a long list in particular field.
Cherguir was just as much of an expert in his particular field.

Carson is an ex Vietnam vet turned operative and Llewellyn is also known to be an ex Vietnam survivor. I get the impression that at some point in the past Anton and Carson worked together. Is Chigurh an ex Vietnam soldier as well does anyone know?

Even the logical experienced Carson Welles can't softly convince Lewellyn to do the right thing. However, in the end even Welles, who thinks he's dealt with people like chigur his whole life gets exposed for his foolishness and underestimating chigur.

That's one of the best dialogues in movie history. Especially because not everything is the way it seems.

Carson is not quite the person he thinks he is, and he later finds out when he meets Anton. Llewelly is tough as coffin nails but it's not enough. I think Anton represents some unforgiving fate plagueing that country, not letting any man grow old in peace, no matter how hard he is.
