Hi Kathryn, What month did you go to Seward?
ОтветитьSome glaciers melt, and some glaciers get bigger. One day there will be another Ice Age. Hopefully a tropical age beforehand.
ОтветитьToo many ads
ОтветитьWhat is the checklist you were checking off in the end of this video?

ОтветитьSo glad I found this wonderful channel!!
ОтветитьHi! New to your channel and it looks great. I just wanted to add my two cents. I am actually in a car driving home from the airport after spending 3 weeks in Alaska. Here was our itinerary:
1. 7 day cruise from Vancouver through the inside pass. Stops in Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Whittier. Went to glacier bay national park and then to collage fjords. Then took a separate cruise up close to the glaciers - can not recommend enough!! Cruise was amazing!!!
2. Stay in Anchorage for one night
3. Head out to Denali for two nights
4. Head up to Fairbanks for one night
5. Take a bus up to the Arctic Circle
6. Stayed in Coldfoot for a night
7. Flew back down to Fairbanks
8. Took 12 hour train ride to Anchorage
9. Flew out to a remote lodge to go fishing for two days
10. Head back to Boston - right now!
Overall I agree totally with everything you talked about as it relates to southern Alaska and the fjords and glaciers. That’s where it ends. There is absolutely no reason to do any of the things we did after number 1. The entire state is run down and old. And not charming old. Denali? You can’t see the mountain other than 33% of the time because it is clouded in. The bus ride is long and you don’t see much. Look it up. Most people say to skip it. The bus ride to the Arctic? 9 hours of trees and maybe some mountains at the end. Awful. The train ride? Trees!!!!! A few mountains off in the distance. Flat and unbelievably boring. The fishing, not bad but would never do it again
Again, stay in southern Alaska you will like it. Other than that, head out and go somewhere else
Loved this! We are going in 2 weeks! What hiking boots are you wearing?
ОтветитьWe will be there this July 5 for the 7.5 hr tour. I hope we have the same views you guys had!😮
Ответитьhow long did the exit glacier hike take?
ОтветитьYour videos truly capture the experience of Alaska.
Exit Glacier was a great trip from Seward in October 2022, after the season was over. When we were driving to Exit Glacier we saw our first moose as it crossed the road in front of us. We were able to see it as we passed it slowly.
Since we only had our rental class C, we took it to the overlook. Since it was our fourth day we were so impressed with all of what we saw. Camping at Iditarod Park in Seward. It was incredible to camp right on the water and see the snow capped mountains, sipping on a cup of coffee, and watching a otter swim by us.
The best videos I have seen from Alaska
ОтветитьSuch a nice video! Wow. ❤
ОтветитьYou two are absolutely precious. Thanks for the video❤
ОтветитьWhat month what it in this video? We are planning a trip in July!
ОтветитьI would love to have been able to hear the calving in person!
ОтветитьAwesome... Question, did you rent the sprinter van or is this yours?
ОтветитьThis is so amazing. How is it free?! I would love to see an otter! We're planning a trip to Katmai next year, and I kind of wanted to add on this park as well.
ОтветитьWonderful and informative video! I have a super random question..We are heading to Seward at the end of August and I was wondering which Patagonia jackets you were wearing? I am considering whether I want the nano puff or splurge for the down sweater jacket. Were you here in August and did you feel like the jacket was adequate? Thanks!
ОтветитьLove love love that y’all got to see so much of Alaska by boat in this video! Those swells were BIG! Every Alaska video blows us away with how beautiful the landscape is. Can’t wait for you guys to visit us in the Keys for some more boat life adventures. ❤
ОтветитьI just started following you and I love your videos. I went back to start your video when you left Texas. Your videos make me want to travel.
One question - why are dogs not allowed on a lot of the hikes? Is it because it because some people were not cleaning up and following the rules? Or is it because it would be too dangerous for the dog (I don’t know of any such rules in Canada and I’m curious).
Whoa! Awesome capture of the glacier ice falling!!
ОтветитьNo Bigfoot though. 😔
ОтветитьJust driving through Alaska is ridiculously beautiful. It's like a constant postcard for the eye.
ОтветитьWhat an Epic Tour 👏
ОтветитьExcellent...thank you
ОтветитьLove this so much! Yay Alaska
ОтветитьI first visited Exit Glacier in 1980, one year after moving to Alaska. I left Alaska in 2004 but return frequently to visit friends and family. Took a drive to Seward in 2019 and swung by Exit Glacier. Took the hike and was stunned by how far it had retreated in 39 years! In my short 25 years in Alaska, one didn’t need to consult climate data to know the Arctic and other Alaska climate zones were warming. It was noticeable almost year by year! As a pilot, I also watched with dismay the profound retreat of the glaciers.
ОтветитьLate to the party (Just got back from Yukon/NWT arctic expedition, 3 weeks) and as soon as I saw you going out on a boat I hoped you'd see a tidewater glacier calf off. And you did!
ОтветитьLoving watching your Alaskan adventures! Every time I think you’ve seen the most beautiful place, you find more!
ОтветитьPhenomenal
ОтветитьWe went to Exit glacier in 2008. We were able to stand next to the glacier and take photos.
ОтветитьGreat vlog! Your photography is excellent!
ОтветитьI was so excited to see kenai Alaska on a video because that's where my dad spent four years as a spy and also worked at The cannery in that area to cover up why he was there. It was during the Korean war and very small amount of people were stationed up there to watch the Russians. He used to describe how beautiful the area was and how much he wanted to go back but of course life and family happens and on his deathbed a few years ago he gave me his notes from his time there.
ОтветитьSeward had an overnight boat trip, first stop Fox Island and a stay in a primitive camp, then on to Glacier cruise the next day. Fantastic.
ОтветитьI started watching your videos for the first time a few weeks ago. Just wanted to thank you for all your work and the beautiful insightful videos! You guys are great! Thanks again! We are watching from Hawaii. Aloha and Blessings to both of you and to Kona!! 😎👍❤
ОтветитьMy daughter and I were in Alaska in 2013 and we visited Seward and hiked to the exit glacier. We also traveled to some other places. Alaska is just beautiful!! Thank you for sharing your videos!
ОтветитьHello guys! I like your Channel, but where you guys work cuz you always on the road?🙂
ОтветитьWhat a great and amazing video. I love Alaska. Hope to go there again in the near future but in the meantime I can recreate with your videos
Thanks for sharing them. They are very well edited, the views, the music and you. Looking forward for your next video.
I visited Alaska once, and words can't describe what an incredible place on Earth we have. It's truly just an amazing, stunning, and breathtaking view. As someone who has been struggling with the purpose in life, I am finally getting back on track and feeling much better. Not going to lie, watching this video made me nostalgic, but also it moved me and inspired me to gain back the liveliness of what life experiences bring you. Thank you so much for sharing this, and wishing you the best on your journey.
ОтветитьGreat video! Hope you get the chance to go halibut/salmon fishing up there.
ОтветитьI love the way you incorporate landscape views and narrative clips into your videos! It's something I hope to replicate in my own videos-- thank you so much for the inspiration. As always, job well done and can't wait to watch the next one! 🌞
ОтветитьLove all the 🦭s! And 🏔+🧊. Did someone bet you how many times you can say, “exit”? 😆
ОтветитьI love how blue some of the glaciers are. The signs with the years on them really put it into perspective.
ОтветитьAnother video chalk full of awesomeness. Love it! You guys are such an inspiration. Can’t wait to do this next year.
ОтветитьI admire the energy you have to travel and put out such amazing content. Will you be covering all 8 national parks in this Alaska trip?
ОтветитьLove watching your travelling videos , lots of information on each trip . Wish we could travel like this but your videos are the next best thing .
ОтветитьWow again! Keep it up, I can’t wait for the next edition.
