My XF is currently on 160K miles and drives fantastic. The key factor is that I purchased with full service history. Just like any car, if well maintained it will stick by you. Fantastic to drive. Great car!!

Haha, the comparison of the XF interior to Helen Mirren is perfect! That is an indelible comparison, and rather apropos. Actually, I don't think the XF interior looks aged, but is always attractive, straightforward without pretensions, and absolutely timeless....just like Helen Mirren!

I've owned a 2010 3.0D XF S 275 Premium Luxury for three years now, bought with just one previous owner and 42k miles on the clock. I paid such a low price for it I was able to afford to get the cambelt and pumps changed and the gearbox serviced as soon as I bought it. Love the shape and interior styling, classic and modern simultaneously. Lots of features that were ahead of its time when launched. Also, 'look after your car, she'll look after you' is my mantra for faultless performance and motoring. This cat loves long journeys and positively purrs all the way. And, no, parts aren't necessarily expensive to come by if you do need them - certainly not in the UK. But, my mantra is to keep on top of maintenance (as with any vehicle), deal with any niggles before they become actual issues; rigorously change the oil and filter every 6k miles, occasionally use Wynn's diesel power 7 on a long run to give the engine and other components a spring clean, and only use Shell V-Power diesel fuel. Join the Jag forums so you can learn from others' experiences of the vehicle [and also to learn to check for potential common faults, to ensure you're not going to experience them]. Compared to my previous ultra modern vehicle, I'm now 50% more fuel efficient, carbon offset the fuel I do use and intend to run this Jag until I'm forced by law to no longer have an ICE vehicle - though, hopefully before then, we'll be able to fill with diesel replacement fuel directly.

I have had access to tens of these. These issues must have escaped them. Here is real talk.
2.2 xf is bullet proof with 4.2
3.0 and 5.0 need a bit of tlc with 3.0d rare bottom issues. The mechanic is talking nonsense and the presenter does not really really have a clue. I have had a gs300 with gearbox issues.

Every used car has issues. That includes chain issues on BMW n47 engines, air con on F10 etc. These are not cheap to fix either.

People who buy modern Jaguars, are only doing it because they think they are buying into the 'British' image.
The company is owned by the Indian 'Tata motors', and the vehicles are just about the most unreliable cars of all, along with the fact they lag behind competitors in every other area.
BMW, Audi, and Mercedes are way ahead.
Of course, the comments will be full of BS like 'I own a Jaguar and it's done 370,000 miles and the only thing that ever went wrong was one tail lamp bulb' .... but the facts speak for themselves, the reliability surveys show Jaguar and Range Rover are by far the worst performing cars of all, in the reliability area.

No thankyou, im extacticly happy with my x350 4.2 v8 no major issues in 4 years it is beautiful to drive and easy on my eye, i recently tried out a 2015 xf 3ltr petrol for a day, it was great! and i could afford it but there was just something lacking? It felt so good to get back into my 350 again, like coming home to a beautiful home, she just felt right, not everyone's cuppa but out of all the cars in this class ive tried out (out of sheer curiosity😂) my old girl has just got that something, im saving my money and if i need to spend it on "JJ" ill do that before i go buying something else, my verdict is im very happy with what ive got, she has everything i could possibly want and more and she still looks very sexy in her BRG! 😋❤

Owned one for a year and the engine blew. Completely my fault the dealer said get an oil change every 5k miles and I asked a shop to do it after 10k and they didn’t do it blew a few weeks later. Overall though if you take care of it this car really will treat you well. Only cheap mechanical issues that in most cases you can do yourself but i only had a couple.

I bought a 2016 Jaguar XF Prestige in Hawaii in July of 2019. I loved it at the beginning. The first problem I had was the rims were 19" and scared up so I did lots of research and found the rim and tires I wanted. There were 18" and the tires I wanted came in the correct size. I bought the rims and made my appointment at Jaguar of Honolulu. When I took the car in they told me that they can not swap out the rims because I did not buy them from their dealership (The ONLY Jaguar dealership in Hawaii). I explained that I spent $2,000 US dollars on the rims and basically begged them, but they were firm and did not do the work. I took my Jag to GoodYear in Pearl City and begged them to switch the TPS sensors from the old rims to the new rims and do a wheel alignment. They agreed to switch the TPS sensors but told me they can not do work on Jaguars (At all not even oil changes). In fact, I quickly learned that no shops of any kind will do any work on a Jaguar (Fast Lube, Jiffy Lube, No one will do oil changes). Jaguar of Honolulu charges about $900.00 to service the car and do an oil change (information I found out after I was already STUCK with the car). I scheduled another appt with Jaguar to do the wheel alignment and fix the doors which were suddenly not locking anymore. At the appt I was told that the reason my doors stopped locking was the door actuators went bad. They replaced them on (2) doors and I paid the $2,000 bill making my Jaguar start to leave a dent in my wallet. This brings my investment to over $4,000 dollars plus the (4) new tires and I just bought the car! I should also say that I bought the car with 25,000 miles just for complete understanding. Door locks should not be breaking at 25k miles. That is insane!!!! Ok, so after paying the bill I walk out to my car and there is a huge 5 inch long area of scratches and missing paint at the bottom of one of the doors they fixed. I got so mad it was difficult to contain my rage after the bill I just paid. They did NOT discount the work after admitting they damaged my car. They could not even fix it that day because they had to schedule with an outside vendor for paint repairs. So I had to bring it back in a few weeks. In the meantime every time it rained my doors they started filling up with water or when I washed the car too.!!! At the next appt they (sort of fixed the paint damage). I could tell where they damaged it and they cleaned out the doors so they stopped filling up with water. This bill was no charge (Thank God!!). That was all in the 1st year of ownership. Now fast forward to now in Nov 2023. My Jag started leaking coolant. I made an appointment to Jaguar of Honolulu and the quote for the repair was $7,000 US dollars. I am not even finished making payments on the car and I have only driven the car 28,000 miles since I bought it!!! The Odometer is at 53,000 miles!!!! Explain to me how it has a 7,000 dollar coolant at 53K miles??? I own a 2006 Toyota Tacoma (I am the only owner) with 160,000 miles and only paid for breaks, oil changes, and a couple of battery replacements. How on Earth is Jaguar built so BAD????? I called Subaru and told them my 2016 Jag was in perfect condition and asked them how much they would give me to trade it in and you know what they said? Sorry, we won't take Jaguar for trade-ins. You have to sell it on your own. Are you freaking kidding me here!!!!!! I hate Jaguar and I will never ever have anything good to say about them ever again. I have to find a way to get out of this nightmare car!!!!! Any thoughts???

I have the exact same color and interior trim here in the south of England. Has been trouble free other than the gear selector needing a refurb once. The drive is superb and the 3L V6 twin turbo diesel is smooth and scarily fast !! Its a 2009 model with 93k miles on the clock but I am worried an upgrade to a BMW or Merc later will not be this satisfying !!

The reality is that one in four Jags are great and are worth having. My 2015 XF is my favorite car, better than the three MBs I had or the two BMWs that were always in the shop (and the most expensive to get out of the shop). If you’re looking for high quality, then buy a Toyota, but my Jag has a soul!

Have a 2011 XF V8. Garage kept and drive every once in a while on weekend. Drained wiper fluid tank and will keep it empty due to possible issue it can cause. Dome light comes on randomly 👻. Passenger window will roll down randomly when trying to roll up. Serviced regularly and no other issues.

we had an XF with the 3.0 diesel, did over 300k miles (480k km), and they can be very reliable. the 2.2 and 3.0 diesels are reliable, the 2.7 diesel is the one that has all the issues mentioned. the petrol V6 and V8s are also pretty tough with timing chain issues being few and far between. electrical issues mentioned also only really affected the early models, so if you get a facelift, it shouldn't affect you. with the facelift you also got much better tech than the prefacelift car in this video, and the creaky interior is somewhat resolved as well.

I have a 2011 XF 3.0 Diesel turbo from new and done over 150k miles. NO MAJOR PROBLEMS at all. Usual regular services. Replaced a leaky coolant expansion bottle at 130k and at the same time replaced the pump an the rubbers and seals just to be on the safe side. Timing belt changed at 140k. Recently replaced the boot cable and Bluetooth card under the passenger seat. 12 years of safe and reliable driving. I recently bought a Tesla but still kept and love my XF.

I have a 2011 supercharged 5.0...it absolutely rips yet is a smooth quiet ride. The front end style is outdated but from the back it resembles a modern Tesla. I would recommend it to someone who doesn't want to look too flashy but still have the power to put most modern sport cars to shame.

I have had two XF's, both 3ltr diesels, never had a problem with either. My first was written off in a rear end crunch. My insurers gave me a new BMW 2ltr petrol M sport. Modern cars seem to be worse than cars about 15 years ago. So maybe this is planned so you have to buy a new car rather than having a car that lasts.

And who really, really, really desires a four door family car?

Extremely unreliable, Ford had it, and sold it. It’s a beautiful car, no doubt about it. But the new owners don’t seem to care about having or building a car that’s reliable. One day they are going to sale it. Why? Because they don’t seem to have an appreciation in it. Just make some money and after that sale it. Maybe they can get the Japanese to buy it, then the quality may change. Maybe the owner should hire some Japanese engineers. How it makes you feel, No! The car should be reliable as well as beautiful…….Owners if you read this get your act together, stop making a junk car. Make a car as beautiful and somewhat reliable…you will go down in history as the company that really did something with that no other company could!!!!!!!!
