Is this the only thing that makes you a top-level engineer? Nope. Should you always be cleaning up everything? Not really. Do you need to redo everything yourself without telling anyone? Definitely not.

Do most senior engineers I've worked with usually think, 'How can I make this better?' instead of 'This code isn't good, but I didn't write it, so I'll just finish my job and forget about it.' Yep, that's true.
