I think I like the original lip colour and brows more too. However, then newer, more severe look suits a monster well.

I'm not sure what to expect for the reproductions. Mattel was able to produce decent dolls in the Cave Club line for around $15 (which would be higher this year due to overall inflation), so if they raised the price to $30, maybe then can make something similar to the original Monster High. I don't think they will be able to go much above $30 and still sell, but I also don't think they can make a noticeably inferior doll because people who still have their old dolls just won't buy them. I am not sure there is new market that will step up, especially with more competition now from other lines.

I have the centaur and ghost mermaid from the freaky fusion set I think it was called. I didn't collect very many monster high but I wanted those too and they're still in the box. XD It's nice to see them bring these dolls back though because they were just a nice line in general.

I got lucky on my first wave Frankie too ! Gold elastics and the original arm joint I even have in the box that had gold elastics too !

MH was Mattel doing pretty much everything right. I have miniscule hope for the new play line dolls but hopefully they can get themselves together and not deliver crap.

I’m worried about the play line. I want MH back but not that 2016 reboot MH quality. I don’t think the collector dolls are worth their price point and Mattel is taking advantage of just the name without giving the quality. Rooted eyelashes and a nice bag are not worth $75 plus tax and shipping. Especially now you can get quality bags with some play line dolls and mini collectibles it’s kinda become standard in some cases so whoop de do. The originals were absolutely $20 I got mine in Kmart in 2010. And there were many real quality lines I think are just as good in some cases better. I’m wondering are they gonna IF they do release the OG dolls gonna just release that box set again they did in 2014 which were just lower quality with a much higher price tag then they originally had. If so I mean I have them and the originals I love the original looks but I hope there are things if that is what’s gonna be released at all make them stand out from both previous lines. Idk what to think until I see it I guess. Can you confirm if your gold thread Frankie arms pull out easily? They should just slide out with no snap. I recently realized my Draculaura is gold thread trying to confirm that is how you can be sure and not get one where she was fixed with gold thread. The collectors dolls are beautiful and I did want them but we all can’t afford that price point every month til we have them all and Frankie went up without warning cept one day mid month so I think many ppl had to pass on her didn’t want to especially after that price tag. I think $50 would still been a lot but a more fairer price for the new dolls I think the original play line you honestly got high quality and just more this time you’re paying for the name and just hoping to get Mattel to make MH again at all.

I live in Brazil and in 2012 Monster high dolls cost R$90. Nowadays, most Mattel dolls cost R$190 or more, MGA cost R$250 or more. So I'm a little concerned about the value if Mattel releases Monster High dolls again...
