Ed Hardy: the Godfather of Tattooing

Wish I had saved all the tattoo design I had made through out the years, and my first tattoo machine I made my self, but it's not easy when you move around a lot.

I want to thank Ed Hardy, for helping me recognize douchebags from the mid to late 2000s, without even having to talk to them. I also want to thank flat brim caps for the same reason. And people with tapout shirts, and people who liked transformers or dubstep.

considering the type of people who would wear ed hardy designs when i was growing up, this is not how i expected the man himself to be. i fucking love it

Wow that's crazy! I did have a T-Shirt with one of his designs back in the day and ppl were like 'Yea he is that dude that puts tattoo designs on shirts'.
I always imagined him as some dad gone businessman fashion designer, I had no idea how impactful he was. He seems amazing, I can actually relate to his nonchalant perspective on art. Seems like a great guy!

I always thought Ed Hardy was an apparel designer that made gaudy shirts.

Starry night when he wrote that in his mind Picasso, he was trying to imagine what it would be like if he all of a sudden just lost his sight, and that’s why the imagery on the canvas is all blurred

You’re combining all the imagery into one conclusive cluster it’s a byproduct of autism

It’s called the layering a pattern on a canvas

Art made a revolution because of the tattoo industry

Don’t even walk into a tattoo shop unless there’s a meaning behind the tattoo that you’re going to get because once it’s on you that link, you can’t wash it off with soap and water

They do a lot of artwork and tattooing based upon the samurai

its awesome how to the jappanese guys he refers too, our pop american culture is what they are drawn too, And us americans are drawn to their style. i think thats really cool. behind all the hate in the world .. we really love eachother and our cultures we share with eachother.

The whole von dutch/ed hardy thing was a fucking disaster. The guy who did all their pinstriping and artwork was a RAGING racist homophobe, the designer was an ex-Diesel jeans cokehead, and the business guy was a rich playboy from Denmark.
They pushed the original partner out (no loss, he was shady af too) and jammed the rest of the cash from those hats up their noses.
It COULD have been a lasting brand with a true heritage. Now? All that shits on clearance at Marshall's 😂
