ОтветитьI love swimming. I really need to do more of it. I just found this series and I’m looking forward to learning more so I actually have a better idea of what I’m doing! Thank You 🙏
ОтветитьI’m new to swimming (had my first lesson 3 weeks ago), but the thing I’m struggling with the most is finding a breathing technique that I’m comfortable with. So far it’s been 3 weeks of coughing and spluttering lol but I’m looking forward to trying the drills in this video and finding my rhythm
ОтветитьThis one kind of put me to sleep, but I have been swimming for 68 or so years.... I have thought that one good way to get the ideas of catch, pull, and vertical forearm, is to get into water about mid chest level. Walk through the pool, but reach forward with one hand, rotating at the hips and shoulders, step forward as you pull yourself through the water, then the other arm goes forward. I think the hand/arm pull is a skill we have all used when playing in the sand box. On hands and knees, big pile of sand in front, and a hole behind us. Reach forward, grab as big of a scoop of sand as you can with fingers/hand slightly cupped and fingers slightly spread, then toss that sand into the hole behind you.

ОтветитьI appreciate you guys doing this series. I just completed my first duathlon at 32 and my main goal in 2023 is to learn how to swim and maybe do a sprint triathlon in the future.
Ответитьhow to learn to swim without getting wet.
ОтветитьLove the beginner videos! Thanks GTN 💪🏽. This is my 2nd year swimming, and still working on perfecting all the basics, so this is perfect.
ОтветитьPerfectly timed series!! I just started going to my local pool 3 weeks ago to try and teach myself how to (sort of) swim. It's going slowly. The whole breathing thing is so confusing. On the upside, I haven't drowned. So that's a bonus!
ОтветитьSwim teacher here and have to say great video, however I would say two points. For adults the biggest difficulty to overcome if fear and the second point is I would not allow nose plugs. Should be able to trickel exhale with both nose and mouth
ОтветитьI am teaching nieces and nephews to swim so this information is great
ОтветитьGreat beginner video. Not sure how common this is but the breathing out under water literally took me months to do correctly even going to the pool 3-4 times a week. Had to do a lot of work with a snorkel, tricking my mind and removing the snorkel after a few breaths over and over. My automatic reflex was to close my throat. For me, this was by far the hardest part of learning to swim. After a few years of swimming, I am now downright average.
ОтветитьI have floaty shorts to help me get going, got my technique good enough for a 70.3 wetsuit swim. Will be trying these to see if I can swim without it eventually.
ОтветитьI have a problem of swimming in open water, nothing to hold on to, no floor to stand on 😢
ОтветитьI learned how to swim this year and I can’t back float at all. I can’t relax 😢
ОтветитьTy so much I just started to go to swimming lessons
ОтветитьJust took my first swimming lesson today (at age of 39) because I signed up for Ironman 70.3 Vietnam in may 2023 :). Not sure how long it's going to take me to be able to swim in the sea next year.
ОтветитьGreat video James, I look forward to watching the rest of these 👍🏻
