Julie: parents like you are blessing!! You are preparing your daughter about these jungle
ОтветитьThank God for raising up voices like yours to expose the filth in the church. God bless you both.
ОтветитьIf we would recommit to following the Bible, the teachings and example of Jesus and the apostles, so much injuries would cease
ОтветитьChrista is great mother
ОтветитьI am so sorry Christa for what happen to you, this will not be covered up like these monsters want.
ОтветитьAre these men being prosecuted?!?! There is no limit on child rape!! What happened to these monsters!!
ОтветитьHECK YEAH. God is angry about this toxic mess. My goodness if any true follower of Christ cannot see this behavior, sin or covering up is grossly unjust-well I honestly have no words
It’s disgusting that men, humanity , institutions will blindly turn an eye to such evil actions or behavior . Appalling
Sadly this is systemic in ALL the denominations . 🙏🏼it continues to be exposed so the body of Christ can heal & restore. Thank YOU Julie for incredible investigative journalism and interview 😋
So many men going to hell, more than women.
ОтветитьDo these men go to jail. Why are they above the law????
ОтветитьHeart wrenching. The response of her piano teacher to her desperate confession. 💔 What on earth?!! The cruelty…
Being alone with a child- providing opportunity for such abuses… it seems like correcting this one aspect would prevent a lot of potential sin. I wish more were said about what context these abuses took place- so that those listening could address these issues in their own churches. It’s the heart that leads to sin- and yet- if there was accountability so that no child is ever alone with an adult at church… (or school, or an extended family member, etc.) would that not be a good first step?
There have been several comments about these men being brought to justice and charged. Why r they not? Great interview 🇨🇦 ❤
ОтветитьWho is the abuser, and what church in the Dallas area was it??
ОтветитьWhat a COURAGEOUS lady!
ОтветитьI’m a Southern Baptist (since childhood) and I know the “doctrine.” It’s amazing to me that the SBC can’t (won’t) do anything about spiritual, sexual, physical, emotional abuse bc of autonomy but they can oust churches who have women pastors. Not to mention the idolatry of marriage to the extent that a woman must continue in a marriage instead of protecting her children. Too many other things to list!
Thank you both. I bought the book and will start it soon.
What an amazing testimony and powerful sister in Christ. 🩷
ОтветитьThank you for speaking out about these issues.
ОтветитьJust a few minutes in and I’m fuming!! I’ll have to finish this tomorrow. As a parent I am completely disgusted especially that he would play that mind game.
ОтветитьJulie, could you do an exposé on John Paul Miller, pastor of Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach... husband of Mica Miller, who SUPPOSEDLY shot herself? He's a horrible man! (So is his father). Please investigate!🙏
Ответить"But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these." 2 Timothy 3:1-5
"Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. "You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn [bushes] nor figs from thistles, are they? "So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. "A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. "So then, you will know them by their fruits. Matthew 7:15-20
I have known about spiritual abuse and it amazes me how some people know, but so many others do not see the problem. People deceive themselves. "But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves." The person who is not a doer of the word is deluded by themself.
The wheat and the tares. Sometimes the tares are more obvious!
ОтветитьI mean, where does one even start? This was freaking entirely preventable, evil tragedy. WTH is wrong with people? Christa is a great example of leveraging the unimaginable for not backing down, not shutting up, and not accepting the lies. In these stories, this is where my frustration is of late: the people in position of authority of power know AND THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING TO RESCUE A YOUNG GIRL. And once the truth is told, why are there even people staying in those places? If every person would just make the decision to not support these organizations, they wouldn't have the resources at their disposal to perpetuate the abuse. As the Church, we need to look at the passion of Jesus, Paul, Peter, John and others. They did not mince words. We need to start speaking up and not being afraid. We need to pursue righteousness and justice and not stop. Christa has blazed this trail. Man, my heart is broken this morning listening to this.
ОтветитьGod help us!
ОтветитьI've been a part of two well-known international Christian organizations. I saw much of what you're talking about in both organizations. In one of them, our organizational President had been incesting his own daughter for many years. I am a retired mental-health therapist now and no longer go to church, although my faith is enduring. I am so weary of and burned out by the severe narcissism and denial in Christian organizations and churches.
ОтветитьUnfortunately, there is a lot of narcissism in leadership in the church. Also, some denominations are very condescending to women and is about power rather than the gospel of Christ. These behaviors have nothing to do with Jesus but with doctrinal error, legalism, and pride. We see it in all denominations, and it is so harmful to it's victims and to the cause of Christ. It makes the ministry of those that are truly godly and working for the Lord, more difficult.
ОтветитьWhy didn't the music minister report it? Because he believed the lies the abuser told him, and in Patriarchy it is always the female who is in the wrong.
ОтветитьI believe that when a denomination crosses a certain threshold there is no return.
Most have stepped over the line .
Wasn’t the SBC born out of racism? It matters also how things were birthed.
Regardless this has been eye opening. I had no idea. I always thought it was a solid denomination even though I differ theologically. Kodos to Jim for not whooping these ministers.
Thank You.🙏
Ответитьthank you .
ОтветитьI'm sorry to say I have broken off from the organized church. There is too much corruption in Missions and most churches. I was attending a small church here in AZ., there are many Ethnos 360/NTM members. I found out about the CSA that existed and the financial malfeasance associated with this group. I asked them to please share with me the reasons and circumstances that allowed these sins to go on. They refused to be transparent with me. I can no longer continue fellowshipping with these people because they are in essence covering up for pedophiles and financial sin. Is it wrong for me to feel this way?
ОтветитьIt's interesting to me that in Matt 18:6 Jesus said that if anyone causes a child to sin it would be better that they have a milestone tied around their neck and be thrown into the sea. He did not say repent and sin no more, his words seemed very final.
ОтветитьFace filter is distracting - makes host look like a cartoon...
ОтветитьHmm.She did not attribute nothing to Christ. But to men.🤷♂️
ОтветитьThank you to Julie and Christa for this sharing. It's time for the Body of Christ to speak up and protect those who are young and weak. It's time for the fear of God to be upon those who know about these abuses, yet do nothing or cover up for these abusers. Time for more exposure and God's House to be cleansed!
ОтветитьI'm glad these resources are out there. I used to denounce all this as some "lunatic fringe on the religious right". I am not the only one either. Folks like me all thought that the things this lady talks about are the stuff of fundamentalist cults in Waco drinking koolaid with their tin foil hats etc. It has taken me great difficulty to realize that this is not stuff that happens only in cults but in the everyday churches you see as you drive on the road and that the victims and perpetrators are the people who you talk to in church.
ОтветитьAbsolutely love her. Excited for this interview.
ОтветитьI love Jesus, a Christian, but I don’t attend church anymore.
ОтветитьI am not shocked by this story. For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light. Luke 8:17
ОтветитьFreemasons who are in church leadership positions take vows to 'cover one another's sins' . I'm glad that the Lord is cleaning out his house of this horrific Brotherhood/ole boys club.
ОтветитьKudos…Christa!!! I admire your tenacity and courage! I had three life-altering events in church settings, one being the Senior pastor propositioning me for an affair when I was dating his associate pastor and close friend . I was just a naive 18-yr old. and to my shock…was not believed, so when the other two in church events happened I held them in and assumed I would not be believed. As an adult I was trapped and violated by my FIL, all the while, questioning how this could be happening to me when I was praying and a church leader, etc. I’ve never sorted out the reasons or answers beyond by ignorance ad naïveté...
