The lyrics are far too intellectual for kids these days. When was the last time you heard the word pedagogue on a pop song? Love it! 😆
ОтветитьLive version a bit superior to original. They all go nuts at the end and it's awesome.
ОтветитьLove this song. Love B N L !!!
ОтветитьI had an original bnl demo cassette from the late 80s I found at goodwill. I wish I knew what I did with it!
ОтветитьAwesome. I fuckin love you guys
ОтветитьMy favorite song ever! Memorized every word.
ОтветитьI tried so hard to ban money as I could.
And then Nancy Kerrigan still got hit with that pipe from Tonya Harding.

And who can tell me who Brian Wilson is?
ОтветитьI am well aware of who Brian Wilson is - and the references to Fun, Fun, Fun (even though the lead was Mike Love on that one) - but what the hell does this song mean?? Why is he in bed?

ОтветитьOutstanding BNL tune! Dropping by Sam’s on a Tuesday 👍🏻
ОтветитьThis band has done so much for me.
ОтветитьI could listen to the intro a thousand times in a row, and not get tired of it
ОтветитьBrian Wilson is a legend and deserves song named after him love beach boys
ОтветитьYou can call me Pavlov Dawgg
Ответитьvixind where are you
Ответитьas a bipolar person, I knew this was about bipolar disorder before I researched it and confirmed that. This song is so meaningful to me.
ОтветитьThank you barenaked ladies. It takes a lot to... well if you know how hard it is to hone an instrument and make band and write you get the idea.
Thank you for giving us your creativity.
The most talented Canadian band musically after rush.
ОтветитьRIP BDub!!!

ОтветитьDrove downtown in the rain
Nine-thirty on a Tuesday night
Just to check out the late-night record shop
Call it impulsive, call it compulsive
Call it insane
But when I'm surrounded I just can't stop
It's a matter of instinct
It's a matter of conditioning and a matter of fact
You can call me Pavlov's Dog
Ring a bell and I'll salivate
How'd you like that?
Dr. Landy tell me you're not just a pedagogue
'Cause right now I'm lying in bed
Just like Brian Wilson did
Well I am lying in bed
Just like Brian Wilson did
So I'm lying here
Just staring at the ceiling tiles
And I'm thinking about, oh what to think about
Just listening and relistening
To Smiley Smile
And I'm wondering if this is some kind of creative drought
Because I'm lying in bed
Just like Brian Wilson did
Well I am Lying in bed
Just like Brian Wilson did, whoa
And if you want to find me
I'll be out in the sandbox
Just wondering where the hell all the love has gone
I'm playing my guitar and building
Castles in the sun, oh oh oh
And singing "Fun, Fun, Fun"
Lying in bed
Just like Brian Wilson did
Well I am lying in bed
Just like Brian Wilson did, whoa
I had a dream
That I was three hundred pounds
And though I was very heavy
I floated 'til I couldn't see the ground
I floated 'til I couldn't see the ground
Somebody, I couldn't see the ground
Somebody, I couldn't see the ground
Somebody help me
Because I'm lying in bed
Just like Brian Wilson did
Well I am lying in bed
Just like Brian Wilson did, yeah

Happy 80th Brian

Listen to this whenever I wake up and wanna lay in bed all day like Brian Wilson!
ОтветитьHopefully has the same effect on me
ОтветитьThis is my go to song, call it compulsive. .can't help myself...lol
ОтветитьBrian Wilson covered this lol
ОтветитьI had a teacher in my second year of high school who knew I was a big Beatles fan.
She gave me a tape of songs from “Gordon” because she was a huge Barenaked Ladies fan. This was years before they had a success with with “One Week”, so they weren’t as well known in the United States.
She wanted me to listen to “Be My Yoko Ono”, but the song that really gripped me was this one. As someone who has had depression for most of my life, this song hits me to my bone marrow.
Also, I hope that Brian Wilson has never had a sad day for the rest of his days, he’s been through the ringer. Happy Birthday, Brian (80 years young this year)!
they make us laugh, but man this song is so damn beautiful
ОтветитьI used to be addicted to Smiley Smile, it's a trippy album that requires cannabis or acid to truly "hear"
ОтветитьLyrical superiority in full effect, love this song to death... these men are Canadian heroes
ОтветитьBeautiful voice ❤ excellent sounds 😊
ОтветитьOut in sandbox ❤ my space 2.0 is the WHOLE web ❤
ОтветитьMy forest fire crew would try sleep in when we were camped out in the deep wilderness up here in Canada when I'd start coffee and go back and wake em up and say "What you guys doing? Lying in bed just like Brian Wilson did?"Wake up! Coffees ready!😅
ОтветитьI love the Bare Naked Ladies!! Truly a legendary band!
ОтветитьMy favourite song 🎶
ОтветитьA lot of people miss that, while the song is partly a tribute to Brian Wilson, it's also about a guy who wrongly believes that being depressed automatically makes him as talented as Wilson
ОтветитьDamn. Remember when music was good?!
