Which of these trends do you dislike the most?
Ответить2023 is almost over and I WISH that grey stained and whitewash were over. It's pretty much impossible to find AFFORDABLE flooring in nice, bright, natural colors.
ОтветитьBuy what you want folks !! At some point, whatever is in style will be outta style in 5 years and then back in style in 10years ! Back and forth, back and forth !
ОтветитьFashion and interior design will die a quick death in inflationary environments. People won't be able to afford the latest decade style change. Classic influence will return, one and done. Tile, minimalism, quality. Good riddance. Housing materials should not be a fashion statement, that's for interior design, and even then, people won't be able to afford new furniture either. Wood is wood, and can be stained whatever color -- let's not put clothing fashion ideals onto wood. Wood is timeless.
ОтветитьGrey is still in fashion here in the UK !!!
ОтветитьLvp is coming to the forefront dude. What planet you on? Durable, waterproof, economical. I doubt you’re balling out of control to get high end wood, and have it resurfaced every 5 years. Middle class homes perfectly fine. Not a home that’s 650k plus
ОтветитьI will never have wood floors again, they buckled, adsorbed moisture, and just look like trash when they get scratched. Tile all the way!
ОтветитьWhat about Bona clear seal on white oak vs the pigmented stuff? Think it adds a blonde tone
ОтветитьGoogled white stain and I’m totally into it now lol
ОтветитьIf someone said tomorrow that Hardwood may be linked to cancer something tells me you wouldn’t go around saying it causes cancer. You would even continue installing it in ppls homes.
It’s called luxury for the same reason any product it. In quality comparison to other products of their same type. It’s not a conspiracy..
You’re being disingenuous. To assert it does cause cancer from reading it may be linked based on materials from years ago. You declared it dead even though it’s currently installed more than hardwood.
I get it, you install strictly hardwood flooring. These products are like the carpet crisis 50 years ago.
The 📸 of the floors that you showed saying that they never go out of style is an indication that your taste actually Sucks.
ОтветитьThank you madison avenue.
ОтветитьThe hand scraped engineered plank flooring, don't see it any more. Suspect that the high spots of the undulations scrape off quickly. Good for faux beams, treasure chest, rustic cabinets.
Also Bamboo flooring after the humidity problem at the beginning and and 'fix' if has failed again. It is is grass and once the surface is compromised it frays non stop quickly and absorbs water increasing the fraying rate . Seem to be gone from the marketplace.
I’m seeing laminate make a comeback and it’s cheaper for the most part now.
ОтветитьSorry, but this is a bias video. Of course this guy hates LVP, he's a real wood installer! LVP is not dangerous! It's waterproof, scratch resistant, durable, and best of all affordable! DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING IT! There's good and bad. Know what you want! Go see it in person. Enjoy!😊
ОтветитьWater base finish’s suck and never look as good as solvent base.
ОтветитьThanks - I am dealing with replacing flooring due to a water leak, and initially thought LVP, simply because my floor is continuous through my kitchen. But I couldn't get over the fact that it LOOKS like plastic, and would have that cool feeling of plastic (not ideal in Canadian winters). I hadn't realized about potential off-gassing. This has cemented my decision - medium brown engineered wood in a 5-6 inch wide plank.
ОтветитьWell problem is, whatever you think is in style currently, will be out of style sooner than later in an ever shrinking cycle of trends. Pick what you like, and don't worry about what your "friends" will say. I am renovating an 1880's farm house and is amazing the layers of paint, wall coverings on the walls and layers of wood, then linoleum, then more linoleum then press on vinyl squares on the floors.A lot of history and style changes over 140 years.
ОтветитьI have a hobby mill and a ton of logs sitting in the yard. I think I'll be firing it up this weekend and making some RWP flooring.....real wood plank. hahaha
ОтветитьExcellent video. Thank you!
ОтветитьPVC is only toxic when is burned. So if your house is burning, get out ASAP no matter what your flooring is made of!
ОтветитьWell, there is actually a study about this: Emission of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) from PVC Floor Coverings, which found that vinyl chloride was not emitting from any of the floorings tested, but various VOCs were released in various different concentrations. After 9 days total VOCs showed a rapid decrease and after that stayed at a very low level for a few months. The study concluded, "PVC floorings after 10 days of installation in the room should not be source of indoor air contamination."
ОтветитьWhat are your thoughts on current day laminate? Is it as toxic as LVP?
ОтветитьWeathered oak stain on red oak 👍
Early American stain on red oak will never go out of style!!!!
This guy is great
Ответитьyou're funny
ОтветитьI have hardwood in my house and it looks like sh*t after just a few years with the dog and cat running around. I'd rather have something that's going to hold up for a long time.
ОтветитьI think I broke my finger smashing the LIKE button on this video. I'm not even in the flooring industry and I could have authored this video. LOL! So on point! I was laughing out loud... All that grey flooring.... LOL!! and when did Oak come back? Newsflash.. IT DIDN'T!!! LOL!! Can't wait to check out your other videos as I plan my new build. I'm doing in floor radiant heat in a slab, so I may be limited on what I can install?
ОтветитьWhat about the basement? My entire house is hardwood, but the basement is unfinished and I want to put SPC vinyl since people say that the basement is more prone to moisture issues
ОтветитьPeople buy it not because they don't like real wood is because they can't afford it, so isn't going to die any time soon, actually the bad people from Luxury Vynil Plank land are going to make a lot of more money. Sorry!
ОтветитьI thought laminate was bad until I heard about LVP. It seems as though modern houses are built to fall apart in five years.
ОтветитьNah LVP is great for its purpose. Rentals, apartments, and the lower middle class. It's more durable than wood, waterproof, scratch resistant, easier to install and maintain, and will last a lifetime.
ОтветитьHow do I finish in the sand dune white stain floor you mentioned? I just installed an Amish red oak milled 4” 3/4 red oak plank seen to sand and finish now but would love to copy that color!
ОтветитьYour video started with No. 3. What about engineered hardwood? My house has concrete slab, so I can't get hardwood. The flooring company tells me I can get engineered wood.
ОтветитьAmen to LVP you hit the nail on the head, ive seen jokers have a lot of issues with it, it looks just like plastic wood on your floor.
ОтветитьLol! Love the skit! You did that very well!!
ОтветитьFantastic video!
