The frost weapons can be used for harvesting, as high up plants or lizards will fall down when hit with frost. Same with honey. It can also create ice blocks you can stand on in water. You can hold R1 to aim and it won't throw your weapon, it'll just shoot the elemental damage

Also getting enemies wet with the opal and then shocking them deals more damage

The topaz rod is also great for fishing. Use the throw button and aim for the water... you'll get tons of zapped fish. Also, if your rod is near breaking you can save the gem by breaking it apart in Tarry Town.

Using the opal rod is one way of getting Purah wet I guess
