Unironically looks as if the dev is using this as a test area for learning to make games, and even fleshing stuff out before moving on to newer stuff. And of course, newer and better animations would take longer, so they continue to fall back on reused animations. Its not bad, but...maybe dont make it an MMO.

【Shades Finnish Pirates】Never made a suggestion before, what about Flyff "Fly For Fun"? I once tried it, liked the flying music and quitted it but i think you could get more out of it. The flying music really is great though

I noticed a possible issue with your combat style, you were doing hit hit roll away and then walking back to hit range to repeat, instead of doing that, why not do hit hit roll away then immediately hit again? This attack will miss because you are not in range but it will begin your combo, the enemy will then close the distance and get hit by the final 2 hits of the combo rather than the first 2 hits, which gives you effectively a higher damage cycle

Honestly, this is exactly the kind of thing i love to see, and why im a huge fan of indie titles. I saw another comment that spoke on how it seems like the dev is making a thing, then making sure that thing functions as well as possible, then moving on. I love MMOs as well, and i love this series, but this game is definitely going to get a download from me. Even with it's issues, like you said, it's clear the developer cares, and that this is a project worth following to see what it can become.

Also, having a cash shop that isn't just a pay to win thing is something that should absolutely be supported as well. If i made an MMO I'd do something similar. "You want to support me and buy stuff? Here's cosmetics that you don't need to have an edge on the game beyond other players, but still support me and my project"

Level scaling is aids.

For the minimap icon pointing up. I believe what is happening is that each player game object has a plane attached to itself, and that is what is being rendered from the top down. So when the player model tilts up the plane will also tilt up. Then the camera render from the top down sees the plane as tilted and not flat.

I wish more open-world games had more complex ecosystems and tamable/ridable/breedable creatures like ARK or something.

"Only doing what you know cause you're good at it" is honestly my take on FFXIV right now. Each expansion, you know exactly what's coming out in the x.0 patch and every patch after that. I know when they'll release raids, and new trials, and beast tribes. It's the same things every expansion on the same schedule. It's become predictable and boring. I'm really hoping they'll take some risks and try something new next expac that'll break the pattern. All mmos should be trying new things

I know your schtick is pretending to be as clueless as possible, but you should curate your clips better. For example, you talk about how 3 hit combos are impossible while showing clips of you playing like a complete clueless noob, that's good editing. But then elsewhere in the vid you show yourself actually playing and rolling away from the mob so you get the guaranteed 3 hit combo every single time. I know you want to portray the game in a certain light, and that's fine, but your channel has been around for a long time now so I think you should make sure your vids cohesively support your argument. Your viewers aren't as clueless as you pretend to be, so they very quickly pick up the dissonance between the way you present the game and the way the game is.

its great to see the developer updating the game based on josh's criticism but im worried that the recent updates are only focused on revamping mechanics instead of making new content. the game has been out for 5 years and josh got to the end of content in this video in a week

The level scaling issue is exactly why I stopped playing Diablo 4. It felt PUNISHING to level up because I killed the enemies slower and slower.
