Who are the Kalash People in Pakistan? | Travel Documentary

I heard that these people are descendents of the Greeks that conquered the area under Alexander the Great.
Does anyone know if there is any truth in that ?

I’m just watching Michael Palin visit the Kalash people in his Himalaya series. (The series is 19 years old now, and Michael has done a new travel series in Iraq at 79 years old last year!) and so glad these people are still around. I love their traditions and the colours they wear, and what beautiful countryside!

Fun fact: kalash people first used to live in Afghanistan in the province of nuristan back then it was called kafiristan because the "kalash" people who aren't muslim used to belong there but later on due to religious war they were being killed so they had no way but to immigrant to Pakistan, and started living there.
Btw in Afghanistan there are still some kalash people [they don't call themselves kalash through] however they all have converted to islam and are living in Afghanistan nuristan as muslims.
