The Ronnie cash part was a good 😂 love it
ОтветитьRest the can on the end gets heavy lol
ОтветитьBest deer elk moose bear anything cartridge is pre 64 model 70 featherweight in 270 winchester case closed
ОтветитьThe best rifle for me is the one I decide.
ОтветитьMy first deer rifle was a savage model 99 in 300 savage way back in 1965. Wish I could have it today.
ОтветитьIn the 25's there's the 25-45 Sharp's. It's a necked up 5.56 AND it's ballistics equal the 250-3000 Savage. It's also a simple barrel change on the AR platform.
ОтветитьI have tracked an animal and then ended up like 20 yards. wind.
ОтветитьSorry I bought 200 rounds CM because I have an ar10 barrel i have no used for 4 years.
ОтветитьI have no idea why so many people try to make this an issue considering that there are SOOOOOOO many excellent choices to hunt deer from the lowly 243 right up to the 308 and 30-06. Find a rifle that fits you and go hunting. I doubt very much that there is any such thing as a BEST deer rifle because there are literally hundreds of very capable firearms that will do the job and a great many capable cals. Its like asking what is the best toothpaste when it is far more important to brush your teeth anyways. What is far more important is that you practise with your firearm so that you can dispatch an animal cleanly. I appreciate your efforts but I think that there are probably much more useful things you could be informing us about considering your years of experience and knowledge. My 308 Browning Xbolt is an extremely accurate firearm and will do the job right up to moose, bear, and elk. Thank you for your efforts.
ОтветитьLast year I had a great one-shot stop on a big Deere with my Henry lever-action. The problems only started after the farmer climbed out of it.
ОтветитьFor me, the biggest con with most of these deer rifles is that I miss.
ОтветитьIf your trusty pup ever quits hunting pheasant, I've got you a replacement. My Foreman can out bird-dog any canine alive.
Ответить7mm-08 is my pick
Ответить8$ says he beats that dog
ОтветитьThe same 30-06 that was used in 1920.
ОтветитьRemington 760 from the 70’s or 7600 before 1995 !!!
ОтветитьMarlin or henry is better
ОтветитьSorry, but the first autoloader was made during the American Civil War and is still in use today, the vickers machine gun
ОтветитьOne of the best deer rifle recommendation pieces I've ever seen/read...and I've seen a lot since I began reading every hunting magazine I could get my hands on back in 1975.
ОтветитьI’m just gonna come right out and say bolt action 243 win. LPVO sight. As light and compact as a 20” barrel will allow
Best all around flat shooting hard hitting choice for almost 70 years.
My dad dropped a buck and a doe this past season on a 6.5 Grendel at about 75 yards super good round
ОтветитьI have pretty great success with my Ironsighted REM700 chambered for .222 REM for Caribou. I load 60 grain Nosler Partition, I perfer a clean headshot vs. Ribcage. There is nothing like Fresh Caribou Rib soup!
I appreciate showing what's available today. I love seeing nice rifle such as what you displayed.
I think you convinced me to go out and get a nice Ironsighted. 338 WIN Mag since you mentioned its versatility like the 30'06.
Good vid!
I watched a video where they dispelled the myth of ammo going off in a tube. I mean these guys tried everything to get it to fire. And it just wouldn’t.
ОтветитьNow that rifle is over kill . That’s not for animals , you need to consider that animal has as much right to live as you do . Animals have weapons too , but those weapons are one time use items . To have an auto loading weapon is cheating , and unsportsmanlike behavior .
In the military , it is necessary to overwealm your apponent to secure a win . Be the bully to your bully , as long as you’re right .
Winchester Model 70 or Remington 700 in 30-06. Which one?
Ответитьengineer here. carbon fiber is just 20-30% stiffer then fiberglass, but far more expensive then fiberglass. and well you are completeing with wood so you don't need it. because of the price of carbon they fake it, make a fiberglass one and lay up one layer of carbon over top so it looks cool. kevlar is the worst for strength but works well for abrasion resistance, its used on race cars for parts that touch the ground. you arent taking a power sander to it so you don't need to worry about that.
molded plastic has variability and it comes down to the fiberglass content in the plastic. find a inconspicuous place and cut it with knife and you should feel and hear some crunchiness, that's cutting through the glass fibers. if you have powertools its that same plastic, cutting that plastic should give you a good benchmark.
50+ years with a .308 short action bolt 700 Remington. Not changing squat.
ОтветитьMy mainstays for deer and elk are the model 94 Winchester in .30-.30, ( used for Blacktail deer, West of the Cascade divide in Washington State and in thick, brushy bottoms in Eastern Washington for Muley's and Whitetails ). For longer ranges, primarily Mule deer, East of the divide, I use a scoped, Ruger American, synthetic stock, in .30 '06 Springfield. Same for Elk, on both sides of the divide. And yes, at shorter ranges in thick cover, the Winchester will do the job in 150, or 180 grains.
ОтветитьBest deer rifle is the Winchester 30/30.
ОтветитьHi Ron Bert wutzke here I have to say at first when I didn't know you I was skeptical of your shows and your utube shows but after watching them I believe you are the best at giving details on everything from ammo to rifles I am a strong fan of your shows and enjoy watching everything you give us thank you Ron
ОтветитьRon I'm not busting you but I have a 1907 Winchester self loader. Remington and JMB were not first on that account. TC Johnson got it going first.
Ответитьif you look at the cost of the fast new stuff and magnums they cost two to three times per shot for ammo, then some reduce barrel life by half easily double cost per shot before new barrel costs which are more than a perfectly ok budget rifle. The availability of many in rifles reduced and more expensive must be 6-7 times per expensive per shot bit like getting a premier car or truck compared to others.
Ответитьno such thing!
ОтветитьI had a MArlin 336 in 356 WInchester. That was a great deer rifle and good on elk inside 200 yards
Ответить6.5 Swedish Mauser is a really nice cartridge. I bought a surplus rifle at a gun show for $75 and that thing is stupid accurate. "sporterize one and take the weight off and it would be a fun project. then the old 250-3000
ОтветитьI've had good luck with 223 loaded with 70 grain soft points on Whitetails and antelope. with a 1 in 7 twist it was sub MOA. It is short on energy but OK for the river bottom whitetails which are always inside 100 yds
Ответитьbought the wife a M 94 WInchester in 307 back in the day. WIth the soft spired Hornaday bullets it was a lot better than the 30-30
ОтветитьI just found your channel... I like it... My favorite Gun for Deer is an Encore in 3" 12 gage with Remington 3" Copper Sabot rounds. Single shot. Scope. 200 yd gun. Of course, I live in SW Ohio so am kinda limited to the cartridge. Recoil is only an issue at the range. When shooting at a deer, there is only the time back to target, no felt recoil. No, I do not need a follow up shot. I do not miss.
ОтветитьI'm wondering what R.S. has against Savage cartridges or the Sav M 99? My 99 in 300 Savage has taken every deer I've fired at and just as cleanly as the Browning A Bolt 7 Mag I used to pack. I also have a Sav M 45 Super Sporter in 250 Sav. With what must have been a custom option with a 1 in 8" twist, easily handling the heaviest commercial25 cal bullets and heavier cast..
ОтветитьI have a well used Swiss Mauser with a near perfect barrel, stock well used, but straight and strong
ОтветитьI am a part time deer processor/hunter. I hunt almost exclusively with a .243. I also use a .308 once a year. Deer processors appreciate good shot placement, and bullet selection. We also appreciate people who don't overdo it with the "more than enough to get the job done" mentality.

ОтветитьI liked the video. You didn't push the 30 06 enough.
ОтветитьI have a .30-06 bolt action, a .300 savage lever action, and a .350 legend autoloader. Gotta have a different deer rifle for different situations!
ОтветитьI love my Ruger Mini-30 for short range deer hunting in the Northeast. Auto loading is awesome for a follow up shot because you don’t really lose your sight picture like you do when running a bolt action. Just dropped a buck last week with 1 shot at about 75 yards uphill. With good shot placement caliber doesn’t matter much.
ОтветитьJust for balance (or laughs) to the guys wanting to use a 300 Blackout or 7.62x39, I vote for a 375 HH or a 9,3x64 Brenneke, gotta have at least a 300 gr bullet and smack that white tail with 4,300+ ft/lb of energy, turn that deer inside… out one shot. I typical hunt with a 325WSM, 30-06, 308, 270 , 25 Ackley Improved or in AR15 a 6.8 SPCII. But nothing like hitting them with one of my big bore, nothing left to pack out.
There is no best gun. Kinda like whats the best gun lathe.
I can own anything if I can find the reamers, dies, brass and bullets.
Would you be able to make a video or something explaining the AR you're holding in the thumbnail? That thing is NICE.
ОтветитьI gotta say , Ron you are so well spoken and knowledgable. Great editing , professional content, no fillers and right to the point....this is truely a top notch channel. Thank you!
Ответитьis 7mm08 a good gun
