Good God. I think that's me parked up at the view point! (Range Rover). I do remember going up one time and it being incredibly quiet
ОтветитьI have been there last year, a bit scary cuz of heights and narrow road! But overall it’s lovely place 😊
Ответитьterrific footage Steve, looks amazing and a little bit daunting
Ответить😉 if you want to challenge yourself then try it on 2 wheels without the engine 🚴.. great views deserve to be earned .. with twist & go such climbs have barely begun and they are over …
ОтветитьHad a wee chuckle at you describing it as tight in places, I've managed it a few times in both directions drivng a Swift Escape and Astra VXR 😂 It can get cold up there too especially early or late in the day.
ОтветитьHi steve. Really enjoying your videos. Im doing Scotland third week in april on yamaha fjr 1300. I will be carrying a pillion what are your thoughts on the applecross with a pillion. Thanks mate
ОтветитьJesus Steve did it last week, couldn't have pick a worst time. Sideways rain glad i was in the car about 5pm was battered to hell and it was dark could see about 20ft in front glad to get of the mountains, as I came of two ambulances were making there way up don't know what had happened.
ОтветитьI didn't quite catch that, was it Dek-Cam or Dek on Ass-Cam ? Cheers Neil from Thailand
ОтветитьDid the NC500 in a motorhome last week, was so tempted to do this but decided against it as it was hired and didn't want to risk damaging it as it's so tight in places. Will do it 1 day!
ОтветитьFantastic filming. Ive been up a few times in a car. X
ОтветитьHey Fat Lad on That Bike 😁, when you do those tight bends with that massive 1.2l bike, are you doing them in 1st or second gear and why ? Thank you !🙂🤟
ОтветитьHeading there in two weeks on my 1050 V Strom, hoping it’s not a day of pouring rain.
ОтветитьDid this in the opposite direction in my scirocco in the eighties with my first wife. She was black Kenyan and we went into the pub in Applecross and it was a moment like in the old westerns when a stranger comes into the saloon. You could have heard a pin drop. I was young and a bit of a coward I suppose and we turned around and went back out again. I realised later that it wasn’t racism or malice but merely my wife was one of the first coloured people that many of them would have seen. We used to stay in the Strome Ferry hotel as I recall. Happy days. Gonna do it on the bike next year. Cameras never do the gradients justice. 😂
ОтветитьFantastic ride well done
ОтветитьHi Steve,
I've just had a 2 day tour of the lake district and I did the hardknott pass on the RT, and in one or two places it's extremely tight. I nearly dropped the RT because I stalled it, and it shook my confidence a little Have you done the hardknott pass? If so is applecross easier? Thanks John.
thanks for the vid. I'll be doing this next week (end May) in the opposite direction. I skipped chunks of your vid coz i want to leave some surprises lol, and will probably re-watch in full when i get back to compare, but it doesnt look too bad, and no worse than some of the tracks in the north yorks moors & dales with the hairpins and 30% gradients, so hope it's not too busy :)
ОтветитьGreat video, thank you. Heading that way on first bike tour early May, so good to get your preview 👍
Ответитьcracking ride and view, I did that last year in a 7.5 meter motorhome, a little challenging but doable, (just).
ОтветитьShame the camera shake , is shite. Can’t watch your video. Try better mount next time. Shame.
ОтветитьSo beautiful ( the scenery I meant😄)
There are many people who live in the UK, who don't realise how lucky they are to live on such a beautiful little island. There are so many stunning areas to see in the UK.
Thank you for the video.
Ride safe x
Great video. I might do this solo this Easter. Stay safe..
ОтветитьGreat video Steve, been over the Bealach on a few occasions, always enjoyed it.
ОтветитьNC500 June 2022 on a Honda Super Cub 125 fully loaded clockwise, been there, done that, bought the patch ( then lost it ).
Ответитьexcellent video great choice of music really enjoyed it now on my to doo.
ОтветитьDid that on our 9 day Scotland camping tour July 22, clock wise,
Z1000sx loaded up and with the mrs on pillian.
Good show.
You should have had a health warning attached - there am I watching whilst eating my breakfast and you turn your head to look down a precipice a thousand feet, nearly had breakfast go all over screen!!! Excellent work my friend, now on my to-do-list!!!
ОтветитьTop film one of the best i have seen regarding the cross brilliant
ОтветитьApple cross pass is what the tourists cost it. It's the Bealach Na Ba or The Pass Of The Cattle.
Ответитьbeen on my bucket list for a few years but it's a fair distance from Edinburgh for a day trip
ОтветитьTried it today in fog just turned at the viewpoint
ОтветитьI honestly get the part about the road being allegedly challenging but in all fairness we have roads very similar all over Scotland and some with better views too One such example would be the road from Lairg to Altnaharra and on to Bettyhills on Scotlands North Coast. Mostly single track definitely less travelled and just as spectacular and easily done in a day
Start off in Lairg on the A836 till you exit Altnaharra then turn off onto the B873 running up to Bettyhills
I can certainly promise you will not be disappointed on two wheels or four 👍
Thanks for the upload..will be traveling the same direction in August on my Scotland tour. Music was fine btw.... :)
ОтветитьOK that's It, soon as my new tent arrives, I'm off to do this road, 2 up, daughter on the back, FJR1300, let see if she up for holding a camera while doing it.
ОтветитьMusic wrecks the experience. Unwatchable. Pity.
ОтветитьGoing on Apple cross tomorrow with my old man can't wait, Amazing effort on this journey brother take care!
ОтветитьI love this video.... and I love the sound of the bike.... but why the music. Please!! Cut the music. We dont need it.....
ОтветитьOne of my favourite memories of Scotland and one thing i love about bikers is their code and consideration for others i love the fact all through the journey you kept an eye on your friend RESPECT nice one bud ride safe
ОтветитьWell done brother, thanks for posting
ОтветитьGood stuff, what month was you up there ?
Going 1st week of June, can’t wait, looks absolutely stunning.. cheers Steve.
Great video Steve i must do that ride one day.
ОтветитьAren't you glad the ABS didn't fail on this run ;-) Thx for the longer version.
ОтветитьThat was delightful!! Thank you 😊🤠
ОтветитьGreat vids ✊😎🏴
ОтветитьHave to add that to my list of roads I have to ride myself. Looks like a great view.
ОтветитьVery cool! inspiring
ОтветитьVert good Trip. Thank’s !
I hope I can go there in next 2022 April, probably crossing the Channel the 15/04. The run is on preparation from France at this moment.
Can you tell me witch month you where going there ? …and if you think end of April is a good season to do that ?
Thank you.
One for the bucket list, for 2022.
ОтветитьHardknott pass is a lot harder especially when wet 👍
