I don't understand why everyone wants a unique house that has a character. For me personally i only care about the layout.

If I had a quarter for every time I heard someone want an historic home with an open plan layout… You better be willing to remodel it or hope you find one that’s already remodeled.

I found this couple funny. She wanted a period home but with a modern layout. She also wanted to modernise the bathroom despite it being a remodelled bathroom in period style. A lot of people live in older homes here in the UK and we understand that the older they are the more compromises you have to make. My favourite era is the 1700s but they often have only one bathroom and it is placed so the pipework doesn't spoil the outside character rather than for the best internal layout. You have to accept that houses of such age were built before indoor plumbing but with loads of character. We get that here in the UK. If you want a modern feel you buy a newer home. Wendy

Old houses are not open floor plan...all the modern amenities you want are not in old homes... people are dumb

Third house was the best house. A good mix of what they both wanted.

The lady is so lame. I had to laugh , " oh, the windows have personality." What? ..Giving human characteristics to inanimate objects. Also, girl bye! She doesn't know what " character" is...she just heard others use the term during house hunting shows. I mean, something having character makes it uniquely stand out, not cookie cutter.
