Ryzen 7 5700X vs. Ryzen 5 5600, 8-Cores vs. 6-Cores For Gaming

3700x to 5600x or 5700x? I know they perform almost the same, but I think the 5700x would last longer.

It is so much cheaper now so Im going to upgrade to it from my 2600x only costs 35 usd more then the 5600x.

As proven with the 5600x3d and 5800x3d, it all depends on what games like more, more cores, or l3 cache, and with ryzen, the 6 and 8 core cpus get 32mb of l3 cache

The PCIE controller in my 5600x fried which is sooooo annoying as I wanted to get years out of it and could have. I've upgraded to a R7 5700x and plan on using that touch wood until I go AM5 in 2025. Should be a nice upgrade and still plough through all my games for at least 2 years.

I decided to upgrade from a 5600x to a 5700x mostly because the extra cores really help with running Ableton live 11 for music production. Got it for $180 usd too.

So now that the prices have hit a low and there’s only a $45 difference between a 5600 and a 5700X. So what’s everybody’s opinion on which to buy?

5600x not worth it , if using logic that u want spend is little as possible you can say why buy gpu , 5700x is fantastic for few bucks way worth it to have 8/16 than 5600 6/12 , way worth it , I have 5800x and 7900x , I didn’t know about 5700x when I bought 5800x , they exactly the same , and totally worth taking 5700x over 5600x or 5800x , 5700x best for the money

Seems the 5600 is the better option at this point. $130 compared to $200. $70 for maybe 10fps better average

Difference is much smaller now $144 5600 vs $189 5700x

This video is a year old so lets bring it up to date as of June 23, 2023 any AMD 6750 XT right on up to the latest and greatest AMD 7900XT or XTX model and any Nvidia RTX 3080ti right on up to the latest and greatest RTX 4090 ( leave out anything under a 4070) will perform best using any AMD 5600 and up also any Intel 12100 will work well but a 12400 right on up to a 13900K all will perform equally in gaming. And we know 8 core processors work the best as of June 2023. So save your money and buy a great GPU and 4K 60Mgtz or higher monitor because in the end it's the GPU and monitor that really matter.

I just updated from a 5600X to 5800x3d and I finally got rid of the stutters, finally my 3080 can run at its full potential, >the games are so smooth now, <I would never use 6 cores anymore with an 3080 or higher

5600 is a 60$ cheaper here. If the 5700x drops on 150$ I will buy it.

For RX 6600, 6600XT, 6650XT better CPU is R5 5600 and OC to X version (OC 4600 MHz for all cores).
If you want to buy RX 6800 XT or 6950 XT you should to take R7 5800X or R5 7600X.

for Future Proof Gaming.
Remember You cannot upgrade anymore in a newer generation of CPU, it's Already the Last AM4 (DDR4) and Most Efficient Gaming processor

Still rocking a 2600. Was going to bite the bullet on a 5800x3d but didn't seem like it was worth it since I would have to upgrade PSU as well. Plus 5700x + deep cool AK620 was only $250, which only cost me $50 total with a $200 amazon gift card I had laying around 😄

I currently have a ryzen 3600, and I'm considering upgrading to either: 5700x or 5900x. I play games from time to time but my monitor's resolution is 3440x1440 so my gpu isn't bottlenecked by my cpu. However, I use my PC for work: video editing, photo editing, graphics design, but I don't know how much of a difference it would make to my work as I'm not editing 8k video or doing any 3d modelling, I feel as if 5900x would be overkill in my case.

I went from Ryzen 3 3100 to Ryzen 7 5700X. The Ryzen 7 5700X can be purchased for less than $200 now. The 65W TDP of the 5700X matching the 3100 is one reason I got it. Its been a huge improvement in my system, and I didn't need to worry about PSU upgrade. Paired with the RX6600XT gpu, all the games I play are maxed out.

Man Can someone help me , I have a 10400F, and its CPU bottleneck in Simracing in VR for me, not a lot but eough to dip in a grid of cars from 90 fps to 72 .
I have checked and its a CPU bound (using open xr and ran loww resolution etc tests)

I am confused between 5600x, 12400f, 13400f or 12600KF. The point is where I live 5600x and 12400f is same in prices(baseline) but 13400f is 25% more expensive and 12600kf is 50% more expensive.
On Racing sims like rfactor 2 its the single core advantage thats used more than multiple core.

I plan on running this system for about 6 or 7 years, with only a gpu upgrade in the middle of that, so I paid a 40 dollar premium to get the 5700x instead(I got it on sale for $180). Also there is an fps benefit to installing all 4 ram sticks for the 5000 series, and that benefit is increased a bit more for the 5700x, over the 5600. My goal is to skip right over the AM5 platform and jump in to AM6 with a whole new system.

in Germany the r5 5600x cost round about 150 - 170 Euro, where the r7 5700x cost round about 200 euros, would you then say that the performance is about 30 euros more worth?

hi, i have 5700G with RX 6650XT and on Modern Warfare 2019 MP in 1080p, low detail, i have 250-300fps. So 8 core is advantage.

I got a 5600x when it was new out, and now I could easily get a better Intel CPU for slightly more. First and last amd I'll ever buy. My next system will be an Intel system.

I hope you test Guild Wars 2 in the future. This for me is the best game to test cpu on since its heavily CPU favoured, and to test it you can do any world events that are happening where its chaos on the screen

Kinda funny how you can get the 5700X cheaper than the 5600X right now in the US. Looks like the 5600X sells for $160 at a few places, but it's out of stock. Still, $200 for an 8 core, 16 thread is amazing.

Flash forward 6 months or so and that 5700X is below $200 and for my wife's machine (who's not a gamer) it's tons more future proof than any 6 core cpu. I get it, it's a perspective thing, however in today's economy value doesn't always mean cheapest, it might mean longer lived.

Thank you so much for this. I was in the dilemma of buying a Ryzen5 5600 on sale and somehow managing to get an Asus rtx 3080. There seemed to be a gap but based on these benchmarks it looks like the 5600 is only like 5% worse across theboard. If it can keep up with a Radeon 6950 XT, it can keep up with an RTX 3080

Could it be that it's not the 2 extra cores but the little extra L1 and L2 cache that pushes the 5700X ahead in gaming?
