New Years Day has been the strongest U2 song to me from the day I first heard it decades ago.

I would like to know if there is anyone who was actually in this legendary show. Don't lie, please. Tell if you keep anything (ticket, autographs, photos, etc.). I would like to know how they lived that experience. I was a teenager living (and living) in South America. I saw the show several years later on a poor quality video. But even today I can enjoy the energy and heroism that the band had in those years

This is the U2 that should of stopped before they went with the commercial change in 1986. They haven’t been U2 since 1985 this concert is basically what U2 is all about. Too bad they can’t play like this anymore and simply no one wants to back to a full analog setup for concerts but you simply can not get this sound with any modern Digital approach.

This is one of the best guitar solos of all time. It is criminally underrated because so many people don't understand that a good solo should serve the song not the player. Most guys just try to shred 1000 random notes trying to show off and they could learn a lot from this solo. Every note is perfect and just grabs you when you hear it. I just learned how to play it on the guitar and every note just feels so good to play that I keep getting stuck in this trance where I can't stop playing it for like an hour. As soon as I hit the last note in the solo, I just can't help but start over again cuz it just sounds so good(and trust me, that is because of the amazing song, not my playing)

This has to be one of the best U2 songs and live performances of all time. The piano and guitar playing couplef with Bono's haunting vocal never fails to give me goosebumps.

OK , I love early U2 ......Bono's voice 👌 BUT don't forget ......Adrian Borland singer from The Sound .....was FIRST

They were so good live back then, and Edge multi-tasking is pretty mind-blowing. Vox are so powerful and sharp and then there's the goddamn drummer that is playing too fast lol. If you've ever played live...they just do that almost every time.
