I would add a few tips. Bend the knees. Wear protection, especially wrist guards; also a rated helmet if around cars, hills, going fast, rough terrain, or while learning a “dangerous” trick; full padding if a fall could be truly injurious. Carve while dancing on the board - it helps with balance, and looks cool. Learn the mirror of a trick on the other side soon after (switch, if you will), or even while learning a new trick on one side. Push switch (not just practice how), alternating after every several minutes, when cruising for a long while. And of course, always check your board, and “tune” if necessary with standard skate tool(s). Bearings should be kept reasonably clean, dry and free rolling - learn recommendations (if any) as far as grease or wax is concerned - and replace bearings when truly worn. Wear firm, flat footwear or rugged sandals; and practice barefoot, too, to toughen the feet and feel the ground. Try someone else’s board (with permission, of course) to “mix it up” for more varied muscle memory. I know some this may seem obvious to an experienced skater, but it may not be to a newbie.
ОтветитьI've experienced your advice on returning to a trick later with music. I started on recorder to piano to trumpet with lessons from Allen Colin and stayed with that for about 20 years until I could no longer keep up the muscular tension needed in the lower back ribcage muscles, so I turned to the fife when someone gave me a brass fife hand made in Afghanistan and with Sir james galway's 2min:27sec video, I learned the correct embrasure and begane to average 10 hours a day for 8 weeks l; no break. After, I stopped cold and didn't do it for a few months and when I came back, I was rested and sounded as good and even better after the break.
ОтветитьI need switch strength in 2024, amen
Ответитьyeah my main reason i switch to long board cuz of injury on doing skateboard and im old to do more tricks i just want to ride board
ОтветитьTrick with falling is turning the linear momentum into angular momentum - once you lock that into your subconscious your good. Deflect, don't halt, the vector of force and try to make the impact stretch over time and impact more areas spreading the load. Don't stop just slide, roll, tumble - the goofier you look like a kid falling the less likely you take real damage. Falling like a superhero or egoist worried about how some messy tumbling slide looks will get you busted up.
ОтветитьGirl hot AF
ОтветитьGreat video vide!
ОтветитьHi!
So, I'm an OG skater from WAY back in the day (i'm almost 50) & doe various reasons, mainly i finally live in a place where driving just felt stupid because i live my whole life in a 3 mile radius - AND because some douchecanoe that owed me dough gave me one (derp - lol) I GOT A LONGBOARD.
I wqs a streetskate/halfpipe guy & surfed on the weekends through school. Back then I don't even remember longboards being a thing. The whole deck setup - the new trucks & reverse trucks & various bushings & whatnot - It;s a totallly rad scene & I wish I had caught on sooner.
I had to buy an electric longboard 2 weeks ago (my fkn car got stolen) & OMFG- I am gonna live the rest of my life on 4 wheels again & it feels so great.
BUT - I just wanted to say - Until I saw your video - I had never even SEEN anyone attempt to do any real actual tricks on a longboard. Obv I have sen the dancing thing - which to me - prolly because I'm an old sexist fart - Looks awesome when ladies do it & str8 goofy when doods do... but whatever - I'm old and stupid.
Point being - You're fkn awesome.
Cheers
<post-edit> BTW - The learning to fall bit is huage. I bailed CRay-ZAY HARD my 1st week on the deck. I was going down hill & hadn't made ANY adjustments to the board since I got it & the person who gave it to me is a midget (not for real, but really) - & I got going way too fast & the side of the road got XRAZY sketch AND pinched down hard WHILE traffic got heavy & I STRAIGHT UP ATE IT SUPERMAN -STYLE doing a SOLID 20 mph. THANK GOD I managed to turn to one side right before i hit the tarmac, so my upper arm & shoulder was able to protect my chest & head, BUT - my lef hip took a shot - left knee too - my upper arms & shoulders are tree trunks & even though they took the brunt - didn't even bruise - but the hip & knee left me limpin for days - the whole ordeal wounded me more between my ears than they did physically - BUT it made me realize how stupid I had been to NOT MAKE THE NECESSARY ADJUSTMENTS so the deck fit me personally & how I plan to use it,
So... yeah
You're still awesome
</end post edit>
I can't even get on my board without getting super frustrated.
ОтветитьGreat vid. I'm getting back to sk8. You helped a lot. Although I don't need to práctico falling anymore. I've fallen so much over the years. ❤ your vids.
ОтветитьI wish I could switch.. I just can't push mango.. my brain stops working every time im trying 🤣🤣😅😅😆😁
ОтветитьCool vid 😎
Ответитьtoday is my birthday and i just got a longboard thank you for this!!
ОтветитьThank you for your video. Best piece of advice I heard anywhere on any video was you saying learn to push goofy or opposite of your dominant stance. I just got a long board and haven't skated in 20 years. I started learning to push and ride both ways due to your advice and it has helped out TREMEDOUSLY.
ОтветитьThose damn evil😈 little rocks... just saying🤣🖤...awwww i miss my skate buddy😭he Rip downhilling😭...yup our butts is our cushion... gloves and helmets save lifes😶
ОтветитьDifficult when you have no friends to skate with lol ahhhh im so socially anxious about skating alone
ОтветитьLove your flow on the board and just throwing this out their your gorgeous Ive been longboarding about 7 months now just last week I had my worst wreck yet I hit a mini van wile bombing a hill was going about 30mph I woke up 4 days later in a different states hospital with a crack skull punctured lung and broken hand it hasn't stopped me I'm still longboarding just a lot more careful due to my skull. The feeling you get cruising on a board or bombing a hill is amazing just feel free it's hard to explain. Looking forward to more of your videos
ОтветитьRight on!
I started skating in 1972, on metal wheels!
Still skate today!
What is the weight of board you used? The long board i'm using is around 3.5 kgs i am struggling while practicing kickflips
ОтветитьWhat's the perfect first longboard? I wanna get in the game but have no idea with which one I should start with
ОтветитьDevin gonna hit
ОтветитьI would suggest take ur time don't force speed in ur learning process I thought differently I ruined my forearm to my elbow when I made it home the whole area of skin was gone.
Ответитьim not good at manuals (as she does a pretty good manual)
Ответитьcan you teach us how to ollie on a long board? love your videos.
ОтветитьThis girl is a joke.
ОтветитьThank you sooo much
ОтветитьHelmets are for lady boys
ОтветитьYou rock!
ОтветитьCould you also please make a video on good exercises to do for complete beginners to build muscle and stay healthy/safe?
ОтветитьCould you do a video for absolute beginners that have never longboarded before? I’m a little older and also out of shape, so I definitely need to be careful on my body. I’m mostly looking to skate to get out of the house and some exercise, probably not looking for anything extreme. Also just a means of travel
ОтветитьSUSTAINABILITY: Impala Skateboard plant 3 trees for every 1 tree used to manufacture their skateboards
ОтветитьI don’t have friends who would be interested in skating🥲 I also have no friends in the town I currently live in
ОтветитьPlease, what board are you riding in this video?
Ответитьabout the last tip, when I started longboarding I bombed a hill without being able to break (I wasnt able to stop at the top) and my wheels wobbled so I flew off onto the concrete.. however I rolled and I was fine! So learn to brake and dont be discouraged when you fall! but be careful lol
ОтветитьI was in the middle of watching a longboard dance "ON THE RUN" by Lofti Lamaali and clicked on this video while watching it; the music transitioned so fkn well ☠️
ОтветитьI just got my longboard and I was surprised how easy it was to ride when u feel the board under your feet. Also I felt some sense of freedom and bliss when i was riding
Ответитьomg the technical specs I love it
Ответитьbest online shop to get one?
ОтветитьGreat vid! I came across a longboard for the first time and was like cool so I bought it. I'm completely fresh to this so any tips for older big guys would be helpful!
ОтветитьYou're so cool and you're amazing
I'm a very beginner longboarder
My biggest fear is social anxiety
what about any tips on slides?
ОтветитьI used to ride everyday after school to my buddies house. We cruised for miles! I plan on getting a board again 15 years later... hopefully I won't be too rusty
ОтветитьDrone shots yayyyy
ОтветитьBoards and has a sick 4Runner yo!thanks for the tips
ОтветитьWhat board is this?
ОтветитьI sucked at skateboard :(( so i want to try longboarding 🤞
ОтветитьGreat video! I just got my board yesterday on OfferUp lol. I’m loving it but I have to get more confident and get better with pushing and stopping. Thanks for the bud much love! I subbed. You have great vibes!
ОтветитьHey just found the channel:) and subbed I have a question. I have been skating longboard for about 6 years but only just used it as a transport. I wanna start learning some tricks. But I can only stand with left foot in front how do I train balance on my right foot bc I have no balance there. ? Thanks ❤️
