I learn so much from your lesson. Btw, I have a Mackie profx16V2. It doesn't have Aux send but only Mon send 1 and 2, fx send, and aux return (Left and right). What's the difference with the aux send of the aforementioned connection and how to hook my active subwoofer? TIA.

Hi, I have a 1000 watts powered mixer Yamaha EMX 5016 CF and 2x Mackie C300Z Passive speakers and 2 Monitor speakers ( Laney CONCEPT Series CXP-110 - Active stage monitor - 130W - 10 inch woofer & Laney CONCEPT Series CXP-112 - Active Stage Monitor - 240W - 12 inch Woofer. Could you guide how to SET all of these for a small to medium venue in the right and best way. Previously when once tried in our church with just Yamaha EMX 5016 CF Powered mixer withe 2 Mackie C300z passive speakers connected from behind L & R out with custom made Speakon to 1/4" Mono Speaker Cable it was giving Feedback in the hall. 2 Wireless Mics 1, (Shure Beta & Sennheiser microphone) along with 1 SM58 Dynamic Vocal Microphone & Couple of Normal dynamic vocal mics were connected to the Yamaha EMX 5016 CF powered mixer. Can you help me in guiding me on setting the Mixer sound system unit and Speakers/ monitors in the best possible way and the Mixer adjustments on LO, MIDS and HIGHS for individual channels and Out put cables connected to which all ports on the mixer for SUBS and Monitor Speakers for the particular powered mixer Yamaha EMX 5016 CF. ( Mainly adjustment settings of each channels and Cable connections to Main speakers SUB and Monitor speakers). You are doing an Excellent job online with your Videos on Sound system Settings. I am really enjoying it and a professional guidance or specific video for my particular Mixer and Speakers/ monitors will be highly appreciated with heartfelt gratitude. Thank you in advance and appreciation. All the very best to your great work.

That was the most helpful topic I've learned, and thanks again, but I have a concern about impedance and wattage. I have a 500 QSC, two JBl Pro215 passive which is 250 watts each, 500w peak, I bought a Sub 18' Powered 700 to 1400w peak, I used a crossover and a EQ, but I used the last method the was shown on the video, I used a channel from the amp for the Sub and the other one for both speakers. I was wondering if I would like to add two more speakers, plus another sub, would it be possible or I will need a bigger Amp with high capacity?.

I have a basic PA system for karaoke at home.
I had a Imeshbean 4 channel power mixer, two 15” passive speakers. I want to add some bass to my system. What subwoofer can I use, and how to hook them up please?

Love your videos💚 Got a question about crossover: in my subwoofer I can choose 90Hz or 120Hz. I want to connect this sub to my full-range speakers with frequency range 44 Hz – 20 kHz. Do I set the crossover by ear or are there any rules how to set it perfectly?

I feed the subwoofer from an aux way, so only bass guitar and drums are on this. I use filters to cut low frequencies from the tops and higher frequencies from the sub. No microphone goes to the subwoofer, except the bass drum mike. I prefer toms not too boomy.

Have to say your ability to clearly explain a technical side of todays active type speakers is commendable. I for one did build speakers back in the 80's using only 3 way cross overs non ported passive type of speaker designs. Philips components. Technology has come along way since then. Its refreshing to learn how signals are being separated and handled. Information as such was not as readly available as is today. However, theres a lot of old technology still being used out there. Some musicians just prefer it that way. Personal taste. Sound reproduction is really an art in its self. In different applications or venues. Choices are endless for equipment. Finding what fits ones needs. You have taught some very vaulable points to consider. Thank for sharing. Cheers.

very interesting and well explained. there’s one problem that I have seen specially in Puerto Rico, and it’s with the second method. some guys are putting the bass (instrument) only through the sub woofers; this kills the bass sound specially of an upright or a fender bass guitar, they think the full spectrum sound of the bass it’s going to damage the speakers(top). I don’t understand, I’d rather use the first method and eq some bass out of the vocals etc. but that is a big pain in the ass when you have worked for 50 years trying to get a nice sound and the “soundman” just kills it and force you to sound from 100 hz and below.

I have a question. When I plug in my subwoofer (qsc Ksub) and then plug in my top (avante a15), my subwoofer ends up losing what sounds like half of its power and doesn't hit anywhere near as hard as when its only playing just the sub without the top, and additionally, I only need to turn the top up a tiny bit before a LOT of sound is coming out of it (think full gain on the sub and 1/4 on the top) Is this normal? it also happens if i have both tops daisy-chained directly without a sub at all. Thank you for any input (no pun intended) your videos are so detailed and helpful. 😊
