Which dizi has better membrane paste status (1-5) ? sound test and membrane paste method @Dan Tang

Just pick up dizi to play before adjust membrane.Can you tell which dizi membrane paste better?

which one do you prefer the most? also, if the way you glue the mebrane on depends on what key it is, which one of those 5 would you use for a d key?

I can not get dímò. I use cigarette paper and garlic juice. They don't last long. I get a lot of practice installing them correctly.

Nǐ hǎo, your video is very helpful, I am Vietnamese and our bamboo flute does not has the membrane hole. The wrinkles on the membrane makes the sound of Dizi is very special, and uinque. I have learn to play Dizi for few months, and I am still figure it out how to make wrinkles on the membrance !

Your videos are really helpful and informative! If I may ask, is it bad if I just straight up use paper tape to cover the hole instead of the actual membrane?

I often find that my dizi flutes sound too much like kazoos 😅 but I'm not sure if I should make the dimo tighter/less crinkly or looser to counter that 🤔
I often find the sound of just a piece of tape more pleasant to the ear. Deeper and less crisp and reedy. Though... That may just be a bias I have as someone who used to play the western concert flute.

1 and 4 and 5 almost sound too happy. I almost like the sadder noise of number 2. I gueess 5 has a good middle sound.

Hello! congratulations again for the extremely useful videos :) I saw in a video that to start playing say it is better to use a tape because it makes it easier to play, is that true? today is my first day playing the flute (i'm using tape) i can play the low notes but i can't play the high notes at all. I bought a cheap flute, can that make it difficult for high notes? or is it just a matter of training? ah, i remembered 2 other doubts i have. Is there a specific way to put the tape? or is it just by and start practicing? and I noticed that it is damp inside the flute. Do I need to do any internal cleaning?

Me gustaron la 1, 4 y 5.
La 1 tiene un sonido brillante.
La 4 y la 5 tienen un sonido más cálido, acentuándose en la 5.
Si tuviera que ser más acotado, diría que me gustaron la 1 y la 5, y si tuviera que ser aún más acotado, me quedo con la 5

1, 3 and 4 sounds great. But i prefer number 1 for high notes!
