You might wanna throw the TT02 in the list, its a good starter entry kit and has alot of upgrades and possibilities and most (not everything) is compatible with the TT02D and TT02R and the TT01 series, and depending on the car they get will determine if the car is heavily decal or little decal, the Mustang GT is a good simple body todo thats part of the TT02 platform.
Ответитьthe tamiya grasshopper
ОтветитьMy first and only has been a txt1. But I have bought two clods for parts, not sure if that counts. Tamiya makes so many good ones it’s hard to believe I don’t have more.
ОтветитьThat's easy. The DT-03 Neo Fighter is a brilliant beginner RC. Very simple to build and has many Hop Ups down the road.

I still have My " Rabbit " a few Tyres and Batteries later it still Runs. .
ОтветитьJust finished building a Frog. Had a Grasshopper in the earty 80’s. Both easy and challenging
ОтветитьI'm just getting back into the hobby after many years. What happened to the mechanical speed controls? I remember the Blackfoot, Clodbuster, and the less expensive Tamiya kits from the 80's and 90's coming with mechanical speed controls.
ОтветитьI built the Hotshot as a kid and we stuck a race spec motor in it the thing went really fast the excitement was so great until the gear box blew up 🤣
ОтветитьI would recommend a Neo Fighter (DT-03) buggy for a beginner. It's cheap, easy to build, quite robust and can be driven on most surfaces. It even comes with oil shocks. Also painting and cutting out stickers is easy for its small body. The base kit is only 80 EUR, at least here in Germany. For about 170 EUR you can get and all inclusive kit including radio and brushless motor.
ОтветитьI'd go with a TT02B. Great performance, easy build , easy to drive and quick. So many hop ups.
ОтветитьCan I turn a precision kit into an rc car?
Ответитьthrow that tamiya away and buy kyosho you wont be disappointed
ОтветитьUpdating this now the BBX is a great option for a 2wd Buggy it seems
ОтветитьGrasshopper/hornet are the best first cars to get in the buggys and the lunchbox or midnight pumpkin for trucks
ОтветитьHey I wanna build one thank you I need to ask something is it necessary to buy like transmitter, receivers and other from tamiya
Or can I buy It from other brands
Please answer me. I also live in UK
Spot on ☝️
ОтветитьDoesn’t the controller come with the car
ОтветитьMine was a tamiya boomerang. I love that car. The store owner told me to get something two wheel drive cause it would be easier to assemble. But I had my mind set on the boomerang. The hot shot was not available at the store and the super shot was too much. I was 16 and I saved up for it.
ОтветитьWould have to be the hornet! Same as the grasshopper but Atleast you get to learn hot to paint the lexan body.
ОтветитьI've just finished my tamiya tt02 toyota gr86 and that was my first kit build and I got it fairly cheap at 203 pound for everything apart from the paint and tools
ОтветитьThoughts on the mf-01x?
ОтветитьHi! Interested in dubbing your videos into spanish? No charge.
Ответитьhello
i really enjoyed your video on best first build as i am looking into trying a build to help me understand more the electronics and all components of my rtr cars.
but what would you suggest for a beginner when it comes to the beautiful tamiya truck builds ????
brill video again and i have subscribed to your channel and would love it if you would spare some time to check mine out aswell.
take care my friend and hope your family are all well.

So I am just seeing this video, I have already bought my first Tamiya rc kit, and I got the Supra lol So hopefully it's not big of a pain in the arse for me lol but i am looking forward to getting started, I also airbrush so i am planning on airbrushing the body
ОтветитьWould recomend the Midnight Pumpkin Chrome, same chassis as the Lunchy but the body Doesn’t need painting
Ответитьhow about something with 6 wheels? not necessarily a truck, but something strange
ОтветитьSadly some of the classic vintage tamiya have no indipendent suspension... i highky siggesr the tt02 chassis to go onroad and than move from that... tt02b or dt02/3 for buggy offroad 4wd and 2wd drive and xv01 just for people that need offroad onroad machines to joke around. Sadly the painting process makes everything harder.
ОтветитьThanks, great video. Setting out on the RC journey with my 6yr old son. Your breakdown of all the sec connects etc was really helpful.
ОтветитьI personally would get my kids a Rock Socker as a first car.
ОтветитьThank you for an informative video. I am a newbie to RC and have decided to go for a LunchBox 😊
ОтветитьMy first was a the og thundershot at age 13. Built it all night over night. Was awesome
Ответитьdo you need anything more additionally to the sdandard box, like a remote control (or is that included)?
ОтветитьSo haven't had a car since a put together a Bear Hawk over 25 years ago. Just picked up a Neo Scorcher as liked the look of it and wondered what tool kits and greases everyone would recommend?
ОтветитьI just recently bought the grasshopper, and my friend who is deep in the hobby told me to get metal bearings ? i also own the Lunchbox but have never built it
ОтветитьThinking of getting one of these kits. I’ve been looking at the tt02 monte carlo 99 Subaru. I understand you need to buy the radio gear and servo and stuff to get it moving. But is there anything else anyone would recommend to buy along side the kit before purchasing it? And do you need to buy extra grease?
ОтветитьHehe, I'm building my first tamiya kit and freaking eh I got the McLaren Senna on TT-02 chassis
Ответитьlooking to get my daughters 3 year old gift getting her started early but this is what she wants. lol the lunch box bright pink is her up and down. Perfect for us to project on.
ОтветитьThis is one of the best RC videos I have seen and provides lots of very useful information for either a beginner or someone wanting to get back into the hobby.
10/10.
I'm looking for my first Tamiya kit. I've built 20+ crawler kits and looking to branch off into something different. I want a touring chassis and something with hex hardware or at least something I can get hex hardware for. I've been looking at the TT02 but it's hit and miss with part availability. It seems that may come with any kind of Tamiya kit?
ОтветитьPumpkin/Lunchbox for first rc’s. Character, easy builds and spares are plentiful. Pretty robust for kids as well. First 2wd buggy hornet or grasshopper; first 4wd buggy tt02b ….. buggies feel like a better first place to start before the more complex car/rally/saloon car bodies/detailing.
ОтветитьOG checking in....HORNET Fo sho.
ОтветитьI am 34 and started RC now for the first time. I built my brother a DT-03 and my nephew got a Reely Core-Z. Then I baught a Reely Chalk for myself. One day I saw a 1/8 carpet outdoor race and i talked to the guys. Now I am in a WhatsApp group with 50 members for 1/10 rally with the TT-01, TT-01E or TT-02. There are restrictions for tuning and I recently baught evrything for a TT-01E rally car. Not build yet because some parts havent been delivered yet. I am totally hyped about all of this. Greetings from northern germany.
ОтветитьHey man I just purchased a Tamiya TT-02 kit and this is my first rc kit car and everything it cost me just over $900 New Zealand dollars IV put everything together as the instructions specified but the problem iv found is that it goes wicked fast in reverse and slow going forward.
The research iv done says I have to re-calibrate the transmitter to the receiver but I don't think that the problem because all controls function as they should other then it going faster in reverse then forward could it be the ESC ( WP-1060-RTR/2-3s Li-PO 5-9 cell Ni-MH SBEC 6V@3A ) that's the info on the ESC and I'm running a 6 cell Ni-MH battery and my transmitter is a TX 3PRKA-2.4G and the receiver is a RX R203GF and they came as a set together in the same box.....
Can someone please help me to figure out what's wrong with this please
Hi Gavin,
I was wondering if you could give me your email again you passed it onto me a while back I how ever can’t seem to find it anymore. I wanted to send you a few question on car builds.
If that’s ok it would be great.
Hi everyone I’m new to tamiya building and I wanted to know if there’s any way to get the jdm body kits pre painted , it looks like the majority if not all of the jdm stuff is required to paint
ОтветитьFrog!
ОтветитьTamiya euro truck wouldn’t be a bad choice for your first rc
