😮rope burn!! Did you go to Camp Walden up by Lake George? Cause we totally had rope burn there.
ОтветитьI found as a dog walker in Alaska. That when I’m outside experiencing the weather…it passed by so much quicker 🤷♂️
ОтветитьI❤your stuff man, keep up with everything especially air fried stuff. 👍👌🤟
ОтветитьI can see how beer and sake can improve your mood in winter! 😅 Just kidding, I am actually on my first kombucha project thanks to you!
ОтветитьI live in South Florida, we see the summer as a dead slow time of year. Winter though is amazing. We wish we had snow though, people get excited when they see frost on the grass lol.
Ответитьshilling better help in 2024 lol, do better
ОтветитьGood tips-I'm heading outside right now :)
ОтветитьI just add your site back to my subscribers list because I am tired of it being dropped. I complained about this before. Has this been resolved with your Web handler? Please respond I enjoy your site.
Ответитьbeautiful video man❤
nice touch on housework, love it✊
Ma sha Allah!
ОтветитьUnfortunately government, code compliance and insurance do not permit much of this organic mood enhancement and connection to our ancestral roots. It is intended to be cost prohibitive. In my opinion it’s why there is a National depression. Karen law, nanny state, control dramas, need a checks a balance. Life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Thank you. It is a God given right to thrive. Resistance is fertile.
ОтветитьIf you have time for it (IF YOU HAVE TIME) and some space, get a decent sized dog. We have a 3 and quarter year old Labrador. He NEEDS to get out and explore and play with other dogs and sniff stuff. Got a big garden but he needs more so we walk him. Rain shine snow windy Twice a day out we go. You walk, he walks we meet other people and dogs. And he barks at the foxes when I take him out at night which freaks them out and makes our chickens happier - and he is great with them (seems to know they are family) as he is with our two cats.
Ответить"I don't think it even snowed last year" -- So weirdly true, here in NW Ohio it has snowed about 2-3 inches the whole season so far, it has still been quite cold until just this week we're seeing 40's during the day, anyway here's to another upcoming spring!
ОтветитьI love this video. In the past I’ve hated winter and wished it would pass quickly. The last couple years I’ve tried to welcome the down time and see the darkness as a time to turn inward; a time of rest. We are blessed to have winter because it provides a season of reflection and a contrast which allows us to embrace each season with wonder and appreciation.
ОтветитьMe, in San Diego: Ugh, yes, winter. Such a struggle with it being 65 and sunny out, how will I ever survive
ОтветитьOmg you have a pool. Your kids are the perfect age to be learning how to swim. I'm just saying
ОтветитьThis was fun and inspirational! More, please!
ОтветитьHey Mike! I recently started watching your channel again and it's nice seeing your growth from that itty bitty apartment kitchen back in the Brothers Green days. Congrats on the family & beginnings of a homestead. I'm also moving my family in the homestead direction and I picked up the Complete Ball canning book and a few dehydrating books; food preservation is a great thing to learn in the winter months. When I was growing up in northern Canada, we foraged pine tea, we went ice fishing for arctic char and made bannock on a cast iron over a flame. To this day the smell of bread and fire carried by icy -30 Celsius wind is something I miss.
Ответитьlove it!
ОтветитьRight on! Thanks for the reminder! Blessings!
ОтветитьCongratulations on baby 3!
ОтветитьHe wants you too freestyle and not use a recipe, but if you cant follow a recipe, you will never be able to freestyle!
ОтветитьI love fire as well. In primary school I made it a tradition to burn all my exams at the end of school year. Unfortunately, in high school our exams were't given to us.
ОтветитьI live in mid-north Europe, so winters are nice and snowy, but not deadly freeing. Winter is my favorite season! I love snow, cold and the magical dissappearience of insects and flies.
ОтветитьLoved it
ОтветитьAwesome video bud!! So many good things in this one. i do suffer from SAD and being in sunlight helps a ton.
ОтветитьThanks for sharing what you are going through. We should all get something out of whatever "season" we are going for. Melaney from SoCal
Ответить"When life slows down in the winter" Yeah, sure...
ОтветитьI love my Michigan winters. Overall they seem to be getting warmer, though we just had a cold streak for a week+ of single digits & a few windchills in the negatives. If dressed properly, getting out in it is the best cure for the winter blues. It's just invigorating. Even if every inch is covered, the fresh air & exercise seems to help. The only good thing about summer is the food. As they get hotter & hotter, I feel like it just sucks the life out of me. To each their own, though, eh😁?
ОтветитьWinter is my favorite season. Gear has gotten lighter and better, and we run outside even at 38 Below. It's an expensive investment to get clothes, food, and build an environment that makes winter enjoyable. But it's worth it, especially if you live in a place where winter makes up 6 months of your year.
ОтветитьLOVE IT - more of these, please. XO
ОтветитьBeing from Florida winter is actually when I get out more, haha. The weather is finally reasonable during the day and night time is perfect for bonfires or going for a walk without being eaten alive by mosquitos. Grilling outside in the winter is the best. I never understood why everyone wants to grill in the summer with the intense heat and humidity adding to the heat of the grill lol.
ОтветитьBeekeeping really is next for you!!!
ОтветитьThis was an amazing episode. Well done.
ОтветитьYou’ve got a pretty cool place, I’m kinda jealous. Congrats man, enjoy your spot.
ОтветитьSorry man, but that mead has a zero chance of being good with all that head space and oxidation happening. This is something I happen to know a hell of a lot about
ОтветитьI tried fermenting, but got mold on my stuff. Need to try that again, will revisit your fermenting videos again. Living in the Cape in South Africa, something is growing all year round, so one never gets real down time for winter projects. Plus is the floral kingdom known as fynbos, which includes the proteas. The bulk flower in the wet winter, so it is a wonderful time to go onto the mountain slopes and see the proteas, pincushion, aloes etc all in full flower. Really enjoyed this video, and your many others. As with many others, I only really learned to cook in lock down and following many of your videos to a point where I can improvise as you teach it. Many thanks, my taste buds really appreciate this expanded dimension of flavours
ОтветитьAs a northeasterner who tends to be on the more introverted side, I've always really enjoyed winter for many of the reasons you mentioned. The biggest thing for me is that it's a time to get organized and to work on projects/skills, without the social pressure and FOMO that tends to come with the other seasons.
Ответитьcoming from a temperate region, i love fall/winter, because summer/spring is too hot. We don't get freezing temps on winter! (we are always above 40°F!) So yeah I like the video a lot even if it didn't really apply for me!
ОтветитьDo you compost the chicken poop? I have a smaller version of a permaculture set up with a dozen chickens and small farm with some fruit trees in Ohio. Thanks for helping me make sourdough. Your tips are greatly appreciated.
ОтветитьI loved the video! 😊
Ответитьi love your videos, and your presentation, but please, put the links in 'down below' when you say you will!! there is not one link here!!
ОтветитьGiven where I am, it's still 41°C at 5pm with 53% humidity.... trade you? If only to take a break feom the weather.
ОтветитьWinter is the best season of the year mate! The global-warming wildfire-starting cancer-causing summers nowadays are horrible.
ОтветитьThanks, Mike! I learned to embrace seasonal hobbies
