My god can this dialogue be any more silent? I can almost understand what they are saying! And this isn't a "mistake" or an oversight, the loud noises in the scene beginning are proof that the dialogue is intentionally that silent.

I loved this movie but always hated this scene, granted, they needed to find a way to come up with the name Superman but I just thought that is was arrogant and rude to mockingly say "what your symbol means is irrelevant, it's an "S" here"

What is tragic about this version of the Superman legend.. how dour it all is, sad, solemn.. he's doomed before he ever even reveals himself to the world.... the introduction of Superman in the 1978 movie, was enthusiastic, joy-filled... this scene is a sad moment. I love Cavill's portrayal of Superman, l but darn if wish we could have had some joy in the story. Just the music in this scene.. nearly regretful? ... solemn. Think of the helicopter scene with Christopher Reeve. decades later and I still smile and clap when He flies up to save Lois.

Cavil will always be my fave superman , I’m really sad there won’t be more of him , I was hoping for at least one more solo movie
