This is on a -1 difficulty from Casual. On Hard fucking elites take about three missiles to kill.

This is the only part of the game I struggled on. Had I just use power bombs at the beginning , I’d be fine.

I dont think you would be able to do that in the gc version, afaik overall health for enemies was lowered in wii and switch versions

Omega Pirate is one of those bosses where it's a pain to deal with him for the first time, but once you know what makes him tick, you can easily exploit his behavior.

Imagine being one of the last bosses in the game and you get downed as fast (if not faster) than the first boss in the game. The player disrespect is real.

Imagine going through pain and suffering to become the ultimate space pirate just for this purple gal to come and kill you in about a minute.

The randomly spawned Pirates also can just be power-bombed, if you have any to spare :D

This excrement boss is complicated because game poor hints and weird desing. Simply dont know what to do, where to shoot him, not know if the back cannons receive damage, where supposed is his weak point, the armor regenerate and also the boss health too, is merely a bad boss desing.

😳 I have NEVER seen his knee/shoulder plates being destroyed by a Power Bomb, that's freakin brilliant!

Thanks for this. I power-bombed him to down him and then kept hitting him when appears and tries to regenerate. If you ignored/dodged the pirates and just focus on him you can prevent him from regenerating and end it quickly. The waves of random pirates is really irritating

Funnily enough this exact strategy also works really well on Hard Mode (thanks a bunch!). I had to go through more rounds of power-bombing his armor until it fell apart, but the same trick was remarkably simple to pull off, except that it takes eight Super Missiles instead of Normal's four or Casual's two. If you have enough energy tanks, you can still just ignore Omega Pirate's multicolored goons (I kept thinking those guys, the splitting Metroids, and part of the final boss fight had to be a pain for colorblind players). Your video was super helpful.

I don't know why I decided not to use super missiles on this guy during the x-ray part. I was just using charged plasma shots. I tried again with super missiles and halfed his health before he could regen his armor (I was on hard mode btw). I did remember the powerbomb thing tho

The graphics update make everything look homogenized and smoothed over and rounded, I hate it.
Like how the n64 was designed for CRT tv's, and when you hook one up to a plasma screen it looks worse than the original, because they designed graphics and sprites with the notion that the CRT's would blend the pixels together.
This looks like metroid prime, the plastic version.

When I remember how much I struggled with this one when I was a child. Frankly even now do I forget that Power Bombs aren't just there to open doors :D

I remember back when I first played Prime in 2002, this was one of the hardest bosses in the game, if not THE hardest for a lot of people.

I'll be real, I never even thought of how standing over a phazon hotspot/spawn point would force process of elimination, and I've been replaying this game constantly over the past 15 years

You can also put another power bomb while he is invisible, makes him immediately come down

The bosses in this game, overall, were kind of a drag and annoying. But this one was badass
