How To Clean A Toilet - Get Rid of Bathroom Smell!

Is there a reason you use paper towels? Wouldn't it be more frugal to use rags?

I use that disposable toilet cleaner brush too, works great. I have a hard time finding the refills, had to order on Amazon 😊

I also clean the bottom outside of the tank. Some houses I’ve moved into it was absolutely black, and took a lot of work to get clean.

I have finally gotten my hubby and teenage sons to sit down to go when at our home or in someone else's home as a courtesy to the person who has to clean. They stand in public restrooms, though, for sanitary reasons. The only nasty messes from poor aim that happen now are only from guests. No more pee all over the place.

I needed this advice

I don't know...I had two that were 6'-2" (a long distance lol) and I absolutely never had to clean the wall behind, the hinges, the floor bolts, or the tub next to it. Maybe a couple of drops on the outside rim. The least they could do is use a bit of tissue to wipe it down after use.

I love all the comments about how Tawra needs to teach her TEENAGE SONS “how to aim”. Ya’ll are the nasty ones.

It's like the spray zone at Sea World. I always learned you clean everything top to bottom so as not to spread yuck to areas already cleaned.

I was going through your videos and had seen this first I cannot believe that people do not know how to clean a toilet and second I noticed you never cleaned the handle or tank and that you missed several areas I'm sorry but the handle to flush  gets very disgusting  and having all those people using that bathroom I think it should be done daily it is only my husband and I and I clean mine daily

The Clorox tabs for toilet tank are amazing. They keep the bowl fresh in between.i recomend them

I threated to divorce my family earlier this week. I wasn't kidding. I'm tired of the smell. I do all this and clean every other day. Mop with bleach. Told them to Sit there their Butt Down. I do have caulking around the bottom. I do use the tablets in the toilet cause it was nasty. I have a white wooden seat. Might need to change to plastic. I gve up. Off to clean my bathroom. I just did it yesterday.

I used a black light flashlight from Walmart I originally bought for my dogs to find pee spots on the carpet. I turned the lights out and flashed it at the toilet,back and side walls, and the floor. My husband is the only user and it shocked me to find where SOME men actually aim!!!!!! Now I cut the hubby some slack because he is in the military for 22 years now and going to a military academy to further his career as well as 2days a week to a civilian college. He wakes up at 0dark:30 and I have witnessed this poor guy in the dark peeing with his eyes closed!!!!!! Well after I screamed and I’m sure freaked him out it has gotten much better with the aim thing. I knew I cleaned but couldn’t figure where the smell was coming from before the black light. I’m going to go even further now with removing the entire toilet seat after watching this video. Thanks

We all have a toilet like this in between cleaning. It was gross to watch but its reality. That's how it looks.
I was eating dinner on the sofa and decided to watch this. I thought I'm eating, I'll watch later. Then I thought, nah I gotta watch this and put my food away for later😉😷👍

Thats how i clean mine...For the bottom part i use lysol and the tile too it works for me

Ty so much!... I live in low income housing and my landlord came in to inspect and said my bathroom smelled like pee. I did everything I could to try to eliminate the smell or at least I thought. I have a boy and we all know how they always miss the toilet when they aim. lol... I mopped and cleaned the toilet I thought I was doing a good job but you just showed me some area's I didn't even catch! I'm so grateful after watching your video. Omg, thanks so much for sharing that bit at the end about removing the toilet seat. I could never figure out why my step son’s toilet Always smelled like pee no matter how much I scrubbed. Not the first time I have been told that I don't know how to clean a toilet. The problem is, the smell is in the porcelain. I have tried Lysol, thieves cleaner, dish soap, vinegar, multiple cleaning. Cannot seem to get the smell out of the porcelain itself.

You never really sprayed under the seat itself before wiping it. I’m sure you normally do though.

I have learned it’s not always the toilet itself it’s the places you can’t get like in the screws! Once we replaced our toilet seat the small went away for us!

Also I always go over the toilet w a dry piece of tp before cleaning or else all the stuff just keeps smearing all around

It's important to wear gloves even if you're not scared of germs, because those chemicals are terrible for your skin!!
