So I tried your method here and it seems to work for one test run but what happens to the audio? There is no audio with the clip. Any idea?

This decreases the size of the file drastically. Does this not reduce the quality of the video?

file wont convert, it just puts the file on my location of choice and its empty. nothing happens after hitting start in VLC
