Sony FX6 footage in Catalyst Browse | Will it stabilize? Tutorial

My stabilization icon for each clip is greyed out. I shot on FX6 with 24/1.4GM at 60fps. Any idea?

Not all lenses will allow you to use this function. Here is the limitation i found for the fx6 (3 & 9); according to the Catalyst website
"Operation is not guaranteed when shooting using lenses other than E-mount lenses.
To use the SteadyShot function using metadata, set the SteadyShot function to [Off] on the camera body before shooting.
It is not possible to apply the SteadyShot function using metadata when recording with the Slow & Quick Motion or Super Slow Motion function."

They either moved that buttton (now it's under tools), or on a mac it's different as - there is no stabilization button haha

There's a lot of frames dropping, do you have a slow computer or is the software not optimized?

Hi. I made some tests with the FX6 and catalyst software. I realized that some of the material doesn't have meta data. I shoot in 30fps and in S&Q (60fps) mode there is no meta data. But when I record in 60fps there is meta data to use the catalyst software. Did I do something wrong or is it like this? If yes it is not usable in a lot of situations which makes this solution not the best one.

thanks for the video! is it possible to replace the footage with the one you adjusted in catalys or do you have to render it always to a new clip and have double footage on your harddisc?

Why do I keep getting this warning window when I try to stabilize a clip from my FX6:
"This clip does not contain sufficient metadata for stabilization. Stabilization has been canceled."

Is there a way of stabilising after a fine cut? I.e. you finish your edit and only have to stabilise the shots you use?

I have using Sony A7C and Catalyst browse. It's amazing what the program does with footage. But I have noticed that program producing some color banding problem with exporting after stabilizing. And program doesn't recognized that i'm using S-Gamut/S-log2. So I changed it export data manualy. So sadly, but color banding doesn't go away

What camera/picture profile settings did you use to shoot the main talking head parts?

I've used catalyst browse stabalisation on a friend's ZV1, I was so impressed with it I'm going to buy a ZV1 just for those couple of clips where I needs some motion. I was surprised how negatively its been received online. Its definitely a very handy feature if you dont have the time to balance a gimbal.
