if only titanic had them
Great innovation. BRAVO! Rolls Royce and variable pitch propellers have also contributed to this wonderful innovation. WELL DONE ALL!
Ответитьannoying music and annoying female voice for a video about technology. who shits in your brain?
Silly narration
The engines can keep the ship stable without the use of anchors engines running all the time The environment
Are those front propellers or back ones I've seen front ones
The whole ice breaking thing, I'm mire concerned about the fact that it sounds like an over promise.
I say for first trials go escorted by at least a proper ice breaker.
Last thing you want is for this ship and its passengers to get trapped in ice.
Would really like to know how the ice-clearing capabilities of an Azipod works???
The tech seems cool but this feels like the video at the start of a Black Mirror episode before everything goes wrong.
If rock breaking ice pod stuck out in front of the ship Or could turn right & left the width of the ship + then spin around no drag when no ice clearing needed, is a perfect idea. Not for propulsion but it could hve pressure jet steering on opposite side of the ice /rock crusher. Rocky ledges that stick out & partially draft block water ways can b crushed/pulverized & no longer a Concordia concern.
Hving an azipod just for ice breaking use specially non prop just rock crushing power & ability to raise & lower the depth to work the ice is a powerful grand idea.
Will they retrofit to my town car. Could really use them for parallel parking.
The mechanic in me will lose sleep on how they build or disassemble prop motors as it looks like one formed steel cocoon where the prop is attached. Please someone explain
Breaking ice while we're all experiencing global warming...
Ответитьugly ass yacht
Thanks for the information. Keep moving forward and always be successful. Keep up to date all the information about Electrical and electronic engineering. My best regards Fandy Nuari Pasaribu. Senior Electro Technical Officer at Oldendorff carrier.
Did you see the model backing into the ice and when the prop hits the ice the pod jumped sideways? What do you think will happen in the real world if that pod jumps? Also smashing ice with a near freezing bronze prop don't sound like the smartest thing to do not to mention what it would do to the gears and such in the Pod itself.
Ответитьwtf is this thing
I will test drive one of those from my nearest dealership
Extremely ugly boat. Too many people onboard. I'd rather travel on a smaller ship where the crew know everyone by first name.
Nice
Thanks for sharing, excellent video!
Ответитьanyone here from the comments from agentjayz lol
Great idea.
A yacht that breaks up ice easier.
I’ll bet the climate nutters will love this 😂😂😂
These are cool
I added one to my 20ft boat last week! Still ironing out the problems lol
Would you want to lead with your prop into a ice field?
How much?
Now THATS the ultimate inboard-outboard engine!
Oh boy now I want a Azipod !
I want one on the back and 2 on the front.that way I can meet the nose pointed at the wave.thats more than a bow thruster.
So then your hulls have been reinforced to withstand harden arctic ice ? The propulsion system is only part of what gets you through the ice pack.
Your engineering and passenger facilities may be magnificent, however a tiny little virus ended my interest in cruising.
Ice melt . Contributor to a short lived pleasure . Look at us .
Now that's a trolling motor. Can't wait to see the bass boat it's on.
Evinrude future/?
Video published in 2016. I bet this is already out of date?
Sensacional magnífico 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇺🇸🇮🇱🇧🇷💰💰🇧🇷🇧🇷
Some badass as you pause using the propellers to cut ice or they think they could do that but I guess they can
Yes plz avoid music (very loud)
Diesel is polluting the seas...
