All videos should be this well thought out and simplified 😊
ОтветитьThank you ! So good way to learn Spanish! It is much clear now for me.
ОтветитьExplain about irregular verbs
Please sir ❤❤
Explained perfectly, I don’t know how many times I’ve tried with these tenses, no matter how many Spanish teachers try and tell me!!!! this makes sense 😊
ОтветитьMuch appreciated, Doc. You're an excellent teacher!
Just wanted to share, preterite conjugations for 'ser' are the same for 'ir'
The same meanings
Hint
Er y ir ending is preterite with time
And
Ar ending imperfect without time
Great explanation and very easy to follow😊
Ответитьthanks pal... very useful.
Ответитьalso in a 2 part sentence consisting of a context setup and an action in that context - the 1st part that sets up the context must be in the imperfect and the action that takes place in that context must be in the preterit such as "cuando estaba en Madrid me llamaste" - you called when I was in Mardid, estar in the imperfect and llamar in the preterit
Ответитьthank you for explaining
ОтветитьThank you. Using duolingo to learn Spanish, but I don't feel like it "teaches" me😅
You've helped me so much. God bless u❤
Ultimately good class
ОтветитьI Love these samples, thank you… I also purchased your helpful tutorial book. Fantastico!
ОтветитьMi cerebro simplemente se derritió.
ОтветитьVery clear. But why does Spanish need to differentiate about whether it was defined in time or not (imperfect?). It is an unnecessary complication where the meaning in communication ( outcome) is the same because you can use proper words to define what you are talking about. This is what prevents real progress in learning in Spanjsh ( I find). It's like the random (and again unnecessary & pointless) allocation of female and male characteristics to objects etc. Spanish would be the number one language if we could get rid of these two issues¡
ОтветитьThanks for this.
ОтветитьHardest part about learning Spanish in my opinion.
ОтветитьI think I finally understand it. Now to actually use it!
ОтветитьThanks for the useful lesson, but I have one doubt. When we say "I was in Madrid" we do not define the timeframe so why are we using "estuve" here? Shouldn't it be "estaba"?
Ответитьso yo fui una chica or yo era una chica?
ОтветитьIs past tense SER really ever used? SER is used for a permanent condition.
ОтветитьI’m what context would be she was taken from me?
ОтветитьSo say respectful como estuvo usted dia is that right?
ОтветитьWhich one is ser and estar?
Ответитьwish you gave more examples using fui and era
i still don’t understand- normally you give more examples and that helps a lot
Okay now im so confused. If you are going to Ask someone «how was your Day?» how would you say that? …. I’ve heard both «como fue tu dia?» and «como estuve tu dia?» …. Are any of them correct?
ОтветитьI would love a podcast practice episode for this lesson! Great lesson, it really helped me grasp "was/were".
ОтветитьGo Dawgs!
ОтветитьMuchas gracias 🙂
ОтветитьA great lesson!
ОтветитьInteresting that Google translate swaps "Nosotros fuimos alumnos en la universidad." for "Éramos estudiantes en la universidad." Can someone give a few more examples of using the preterite for "was/were". Eg. You were young. Google translate actually agrees here - "Fuiste joven".
ОтветитьWhy ser (means 'is' in english) is used as 'es' in in sentences? Can you reply to this comment please?
ОтветитьI'm just starting with this 🤦♀️
ОтветитьOne of the things I love about this channel is how he says "you can do it". Normally when other teachers say "you can do it" I think they're just saying it but don't mean it. But when Danny says it I really feel that he believes in us and that he's sure we'll master Spanish. Thank you for all the lessons Danny :D
Ответитьmuchas gracis Professor
Ответитьthis ERA and FUI sometimes doesnt make sense . eg, the yo era alto cuando era joven. cuando era joven is also a specific time. the person did not remain young forever in the past. and era alto, also changed when he grew. therefore if then action happened only in the past, it means it was never in a permanent state
Ответитьcan you sometimes use estaba and estuve at anytime ? like for example "i was in madrid last week" can we use either one in this case ? since estaba is describing location and estuve is describing a time period
Ответить“I can’t just say ‘you was’, I have to say ‘you were’”
Not in black english
Estupendo😅❤😊
ОтветитьImpossible
ОтветитьBeing an alumni seems like it’s ongoing as well… kinda seems like could use ser in the imperfect to say I was an alumni too, since after you graduate from university you continue to be an alumni indefinitely
ОтветитьIS not "Alumno" a lifetime duration?? How can you then say I was alumno?
ОтветитьSpanish is about learning of verbs. You need to allocate 80 percent of your study time for verbs. Anyway it's the easiest European language to learn despite the fact that Spanish verb grammar is the most difficult.
ОтветитьDANNY, PLEASE READ! Maybe I speak for other subscribers who like/love your work, but your channel is in danger amigo.. More and more we are seeing our precious time wasted with stuff like; lengthy intros (although the tune is catchy, it’s all a bit too long), then there is the 'begging' us almost to like and subscribe and ring that notification bell, or buy your merch, or go check out your podcast info, or your Facebook info, etc. It’s kind of self-deprecating and we really like you but seriously, the dignity factor has waned so much...persoanlly, I gotta get out. This video right here for example, uses up 2 entire minutes (about 15% of the entire video) on what I did NOT click on or wish to know about. But hey, its your channel man. Anyway, it’s been a good few years! I learnt a lot but my patience is kinda done. Going to unsubscribe now and let you focus on your goals. Peace amigo. Muchas gracias!
ОтветитьHelpful!
