Not one person in America had a credit card before 1975 …. Please confirm. Now with the new era of shopping Online it is a double whammy… where even your 14 year olds are being marketed to by Temu and such. “Parent be aware.”

The hard part is tracking it everytime you spend a single penny. You have to continuously be in touch with your budget and where youre at for each category. I need to find an app that gives me notifications when im spending too much.

I changed how I looked at budgeting as Ramsey said I looked at it as a straight jacket instead of like controlling a pitbull on a short leash and I'm terrible at spending like I get paid on Wednesday on a bi weekly and by the time its the weekend the money is already gone and I have budget a little and I have 155 left since right now I haven't paid the car and insurance yet but I do have to get parts for my car which I'm going to use the leftover since I don't have an emergency fund which I'm going to start

You have to give each dollar in your budget a job, from all the new jobs you keep learning about, and all the dollars you keep making.

Just like Dave I started my budget off by saying I’m going to spend 3,000 on entertainment. I only Make 800.. now I’m in debt and have drug cartels after me. Am I doing this wrong or? ..

Live in a cardboard box for 40 years so you can be a millionaire the last 10 years of life.

What made the most progress for me is figuring out how much I need to survive every month. My yearly income is over 81,000 dollars a year but I can survive off 43,920 so around 915 a month. So no matter how much I make as long as I have 915 at least that’s all I have access to. It built my savings fast and gives me a lot of ammunition to shoot at my debt

How do you plan for everything including stuff that isn't monthly but it's more or less every 2-3 months or like every 6 months, like do you have separate budgets for different amounts of time?

Until you are free from debt, I don’t think you should even consider eating out at restaurants where a tip is expected.
Waste Not, Want Not
I do not believe it will ever benefit you to waste even a single molecule of food. And I think it might behoove you to research how to cook and prepare insects commonly found around your house.
There are many many slick and sly crooks and con artists who broadcast advertisements in which the product is not what they’re actually selling. Instead, they are trained to trick you into signing very dangerous long term high interest financial contracts.

After being pointed here from a co-worker who said its great I'm sorry but the fact that 90 percent of the people hearing this thinks he's talking like a money wizard makes me sad for most Americans with regular income folks if you have not heard just about everything he has to say your parents failed you.

I’ve always told myself I’ll start a budget but never have until I payed off all of my cards and it was 1000 total this month. I am not in any debt at all, and half of that was an airplane ticket which was necessary, but I was like geez that’s crazy that I just spent that much money

I call my budget the "FPS" - Financial Planning System.

Everything goes through the FPS.

Money incoming, money outgoing, mortgage payment, mortgage overpayments, mortgage debt level, food, fuel, MPG performance, bills, water, gas and electricity usage - everything is monitored on a weekly basis.

It looks over the top, but it feels great to be in control.

instead of drinking a third cup of coffee i will drink tea which is cheaper than coffee for the third cup. Tea prepared at home can cost as low as five cents per cup. Coffee, on the other hand, can cost around 16 cents per cup when made at home. The same price difference is seen when buying a cup at a cafe, coffee is always more expensive.

People that want to become debt-free need to look at the long-term not the short -term. You need dedication and strength. Because you got yourself into the situation, you have to get yourself out of it by changing your habits.

The good thing about being an extreme cheap skate is that I don't need to budget because I already know I'm spending the absolute minimum on everything and I never buy anything that I don't need.
