One note about Kimchi : many brands are loaded with MSG .They do sell Kimchi without adding MSG so be sure to read the labels

Hands up who smiled to themselves as soon as she said "pesto." And then heard "pesto" again and again in a ranting tone. 😅

I have IBS and cabbage give me very bad IBS attack. Don't like cabbage either. So what could I replace Sauerkraut and Kimchi with ?

A tasty use of hemp seeds is a tablespoon or two of them in the pit space on 1/2 an avocado. A little olive oil drizzle and it’s a tasty treat/meal.

I just love your videos. I love sauerkraut and make my own alfredo sauce. The sauce goes well on Spaghetti squash, brussel sprouts and shrimp. Thank you for your insights. Am doing the intermittent fasting - surprisingly I haven't had any cravings and I've been doing the diet for 10 days. Only lost 8lbs but I'm excited about how well I feel!

Well we don't all live in temperate climates. In the tropics we have many foods that beat the usual recommeded vegetables hands down. However it took me years to find them and how to grow them. Very little advice for us guys really.

I have a sweet taste aversion. I never can eat the sweet taste. I love the cabbages ! Krauts, with sausages, smoked are not good for us but once in a great while I will have it with kraut. I love kraut with pork too. Ham hock on keto Is ok so I team it with pork hocks. I try and not indulge on that fat but it’s good to flavor the kraut

In case people are not aware most sauerkraut in the grocery store no longer has live bacteria from fermentation. If it's canned, jarred, or even in a plastic bag in a refrigerated area and it says "pasteurized" or it has any ingredient other than cabbage, salt, and water this may be the case. A health food store is a possible alternative place for this product if someone wants the live bacteria.

Sauerkraut is rather easy and definitely not smelly. Properly made, it has a nearly sweet aroma. We make it with red and green peppers and truffle salt.

Good info as always, thank you. I eat a lot of broccoli and it never occurred to me to try Alfredo sauce. I like melting bacon fat over the broccoli and salting to taste. Another big benefit of sauerkraut is that it's high in vitamin C. Kimchi can be tricky as there is a wide spectrum of quality. Like you I enjoy the very hot Kimchi. For whatever reason many lesser spiced Kimchi brands have an unpleasant aroma. Am a pesto newbie, but will definitely try it!

Sauerkraut is much much easier to make than kimchi and it is NOT SMELLY compared to kimchee or vegan farts. Most alfredo sauce in jars is full of carbs. Also, if your weight loss is stalling stop with all these treats and go back to meat and leafy greens.

I was never a fan of kraut, but this last st pat's, I got a wiff of it, and couldn't get enough. So I'll anecdotally agree with your assertion about expanded pallet due to no sugar.

I have to stay away from a lot of salt like sour kraut etc but the pesto is a great idea to flavor foods. If you are only doing a small amount that would be good. I've shunned it in the past because it's so high in calories.
