When we were still driving, we had a Port O Let, electric toilet. It burn your poop, without a bit of odor. The only cleaning was removing the dry dust. Plug it into a 20 amp outlet and vent the toilet to the outside using a short dryer hose. If I was to build a van, I would absolutely install an electric toilet. A small generator would supply the power source.
Ответитьdo not ever buy buy yellow colored gatorade if you pee in a bottle--- just a matter of time.....
ОтветитьPoopy butts!
Ответить👋💃🐞🙂 Good video ! A bit of straight talk that relates to real life issues even if a person is just camping 🙂 When I took my family camping I opened drivers door & passenger door placed a bucket between the doors with saw sawdustit, Hung a curtain over the 2 doors, after use of it, I dug a hole buried it ( it worked) 😉then I wiped the bucket out with baby wipes & it was ready too use again😄 😉 That was the old school way 🙂Ty for sharing! 👍😍Be safe/Be Happy & I'll see you on the next video! 🙂
ОтветитьNo one actually talks about emptying the bottom portion of the cassette toilet. Seems to me you would have a terrible smell while emptying it and then you would have to rinse it. It just doesn't seem practical to me.
ОтветитьI just cut a hole in the bottom of my van and installed a real toilet. I poop/pee then move my van. No flush required.
ОтветитьHi Dee, I have just re watched this and would like to add my scoop on poop. I have lived in a van without a toilet for a year and have found this to be perfect for me..... I use a bottle and funnel for pee and a small bucket with a firm lid. I just place toilet paper on the bottom of the bucket. Do my thing then use the used toilet paper to cover it. I then put on the lid and when I find a public toilet I just empty it there. It all falls out with the toilet paper on the bottom of the bucket. I also carry a small bottle of air freshener which I use to spray the empty bucket but it isn't really needed. I haven't bothered to use horse pellets, Kitty litter etc. There is absolutely NO smell in the plastic bucket after a year. 🌹🌹🌹
ОтветитьCool ideas. I’m currently rethinking this part of my setup.
One thing that always gets me though is ppl with cargo van conversions having their toilets so close to their kitchens. And especially having only one sink. Do they prepare their food in the same sink they wash their hands after wiping??? 😳😬
Anyway, I only want a toilet for when I’m camped out for a week or 2 on blm land. The rest of the time I’m fine with rest stops or Walmart or wherever else.
Thanks for compiling this info on what different ppl are doing!
Thank you for this comprehensive video.
Ответитьso none of y'all wash ur hole after you poop.. smh. No one said anything about using biodegradable baby wipes or anything like that.. Crazy
ОтветитьI have both the foldable bag toilet and the portable one with water. With houses minimum a million and rent for a studio is over 1k, I might look into van living
ОтветитьI can’t eat my lunch watching this
ОтветитьI live in my Jeep Patriot for 8 months in California. I found that horse pellets and a tupperwear for cereal was perfect for a thigh-gap worked great for #1 & #2.
ОтветитьI love the community aspect of vids like this. Poop, as we all have to, & having a giggle about it😆. Anyways, you all live apart but you all live together, bravo! Good family vibes🤗
ОтветитьThank you toilet
ОтветитьHere in the UK they disapprove of you throwing human waste into doggy bins. Although it's probably done anyway, they claim that human waste is potentially far more toxic to humans and needs to be disposed of extra carefully using toilet fluid. If you dig a hole it must be a minimum distance from any water pipes, making it more difficult.
ОтветитьYou are doing god's work in this video. Blessings, haha.
ОтветитьHelping solve mysteries, whatever's comfortable,. Now I have more ideas. . .
ОтветитьBunny mentioned that if you camp on BLM land, you are required to have a chemical toilet. How can you find out ahead of time which areas have that requirement? What would be a good resource to find out this kind of information? Thanks
ОтветитьGreat video !! Can’t wait to get my camper van built ! I will get a dry flush toilet though .
ОтветитьOh no no dumping for me 😅
ОтветитьCoffee can close. Too what I do big red plastic Folgers bag in bucket

ОтветитьStore bag in small bucket with sealed lid living in sons minivan
ОтветитьI saved my 5 gallon laundry detergent bucket and bought a funnel for my future business on the way. I liked just the foldable camping toilet seat and bags but I wanted to build a compost toilet just to have something else handy. I'm using the juice bottles that are over 1 gallon with lids. They fit perfectly with the funnel.
ОтветитьWow what a great and useful video! I have a triptips and its great but a bit difficult to pick up and move (the lid is secure when you sit on the toilet, but pulls free if you try and move the unit.) I am looking at the Cleanwaste ($$$) or Reliance ($$) Thanks!!!
ОтветитьExtremely helpful thank you
Ответить"The Scoop On Poop" Great VIdeo Title! 🤣
Fantastic variety of Ideas regarding a very important topic ... Nicely Done Lady Bugout! : )
Some great solutions. I would really hope nobody is carrying a chemical toilet cassette through a restaurant where people are eating to dump it in the customer toilets…
ОтветитьThe very first one, you didn't name it... You have to tell us what the heck things are called
ОтветитьLove the renegades
ОтветитьBest video i've seen in a while. Thank you.
ОтветитьThis was very interesting. I am both interested in the concept of van life and in people that are open with using the bathroom. So this was an interesting video. I don't know if I ever would, but the idea of van life sounds really freeing and fun.
ОтветитьComposting doesn't actually require separation of body waste it can be mixed
ОтветитьDon’t leave TP behind.
ОтветитьLots of ideas!
Thank you for the videos!
Using a
HUGE plastic bag
(Even if it's "biodegradable" ) seems like a super wasteful, environmentally unfriendly and expensive way to "loo". Even with continued use (more than a few days), the big plastic bags seem to be overkill.
Coffee can..... my favorite so far. Coffee grounds are a really good idea!! I like the use of sawdust or the pellets in much a smaller bag.
Thanks again!!
That was one of the best videos about toilets, we have seen yet! Thank you so much for showcasing how real people live full-time and what sanitation methods are used. If you are ever interested in a compost toilet that has a power agitator, liquid level sensor, removable solids bin, and other user-friendly features look us up. We are here to help provide a sanitation solution that is not only sustainable but comfortable and convenient. Shout out to our mutual friends- Lost Renegades! Your videos are awesome. Ответитьoky how we bay it
Ответитьvery good
ОтветитьPerfect...
ОтветитьA bed pan with a bag inside of it works great for number 1 or 2. It has less bulk so it saves on space.
ОтветитьBecause I have bad knees, this is my set up. I set up a privacy tent. Put a commode frame inside and I have a divided mop bucket set up under it that has a plastic coffee container for the #1 side, and a bag with pine shavings for the #2 side. The urine is easy to dispose of. The #2 bag is wrapped up and put in a gallon ziplock bag until it can be disposed of properly. The commode frame folds up flat for transport. If I had a larger vehicle I could set it up inside.
Ответитьfor all those people that wonder why you just don't go in a 'cat hole', it can take over a year for human waste to decompose. Especially in arid environments. Dry earth desiccates your deposit slowing the decomposition.
ОтветитьI have a hospital toilet that I’ve turned into a compost toilet with a five gallon bucket.
