The glizzing in the comments is crazy. Obviously some of the fans go overboard like with the crab, but HB was also in and around a lot of the drama in the early days which rubbed people the wrong way. But I understand why he’s a lot of peoples favorite.

Biggest propaganda video ever by the way. Hungrybox was never the last god.

Yeah I've always took huge issues with the super anti Hbox people. I don't like watching his Puff either, but there's a reason he's the only Puff who is actually a major threat at a major to win, and it's because he's the only Puff good enough to do it. Then you actually see how he plays, and it's pretty obvious he's put an insane amount of effort and thinking into how he handles even brief micro interactions.

Just like yeah, some of the stuff he does looks cheesy, but you try to do the same thing, and it won't work. He's only able to do the stuff he does due to his level of knowledge and skill in acting on that knowledge.

I've always been in the camp that smash does deserve the spot it got, but the amount of tribalism in melee is why people hate on melee.

lmao, I never followed melee's community after 2015 when I got busy with life, but I always followed the competitive till 2019. I have always despised Leffen because of his attitude and disrespect towards hungrybox but I never realized it was this bad. I always cheered for Hungrybox growing up because he was the underdog and never liked Mango (nothing against his personality, I just liked to cheer for the underdog). Seeing Hungrybox cry after winning evo 2016 was amazing to me and I will never forget that moment. The competitive scene is simply jealous of hungrybox and his talent and dedication to melee. Don't worry HungryBox thats just how people react.
