I've never seen/heard this suing by women before and it's wonderful.
ОтветитьHaving had the privilege of singing these much loved top C's as a chorister in St. Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin, how sad it that we focus on merely one side of the beauty of this piece, whilst totally missing the entire point of the composition and indeed the composer's intent; to convey repentance, regarding our ignoring of God and seeking profound reconciliation with our creator, which comes through Jesus. That is the whole point of the piece and fundamentally why it is so profound and evocatively relevant to us today. Sadly I fear we miss the original intent of the composer, worshipping musicianship and music and missing the whole point. The truth of Psalm 51 is actually what fundamentally makes this piece a most beautiful and powerfully relevant piece of today.
ОтветитьAmazing performance of an inspiring masterpiece
awwww it was in interview!... too bad, I wanted to hear the music, not the man talking in between!.
ОтветитьStupendo.. Bravissimi.
ОтветитьNot of this World!
Ответитьunwordly and beyond words annie
ОтветитьRidiculous! The supposed reasons for destroying this piece have no basis in historical record, but are entirely fabricated by a pompous musician seeking notoriety. Sickening and disgusting really.

ОтветитьReally interesting bit of music history. Thank you. The distant quartet seems to be the idea incorporated by Tenebrae's 2018 version.
ОтветитьI got very nervous listening to the new version but I will try to give it another listen.

ОтветитьThe answer to the question what is the difference between making music for a label and money. and making music for a higher purpose the answer is in this beautiful arrangement.
