Ответитьdamn bro's still hearting comments??
ОтветитьThanks for covering DOD. Source really lost the grittiness DOD had when it was a pre-retail mod. I have fond memories of the early 2000's between DoD, Red Orchestra, Call of Duty, and watching Saving Private Ryan and Band of Brothers.
ОтветитьI swear this game must have come out in either the summer of 1999~2000 because I remember going to an Internet Cafe with two of my friends for his birthday and playing Day of Defeat for the first time and it was the first time in my life that I recognised PC gaming was a thing after being a Console-Andy in my infancy. 2000 was the year I started high school so I would have been 12 and the first time I used a Mouse to Aim and for some reason I took to it like a fish to water. Jesus Christ this was 24 years ago (as of typing this) when I discovered PC gaming.
The three of us in that internet cafe were the loudest ones there… back then internet cafes were where old people went to send emails because they used up their dialup 56kbps internet bandwidth at home or something.
Great memories watching this video. I think that I started playing this game at its beginnings. It used to be fantastic. It would have the speed and frenzy as CS, but in a WWII environment. I would play for a clan and we even played the European DoD championship (we came last since my team would desert mid-game).
In my personal opinion the downfall of this game was when they started to adjust the recoil of the weapons, the mussel flash and really poor design for new maps implemented with updates. I believe that Valve was not really interested in making this game a success because there was, probably, a fierce competence with BattleField and Wolfenstein.
Great video man, and thanks for the smile after watching the video.
I do love dod:s, but I must admit the game feels kind of barebones, if you consider all the stuff from the first game that didn't make it into the source version. But I can only imagine what kind of a banger Valve could have created if they decided to pour the time and resources to make a fully fleshed out sequel to the original game. Probably wouldn't be profitable for them though.
Ответить😂 thanks for making me feel like a walking skeleton
ОтветитьI remember this game when I bought Battlefield 2 with the valve bundle comes with HL, CS, and DOD

ОтветитьDoes your ass have bot to heart every comment
ОтветитьI've played Sex with Hitler
ОтветитьEhh, it may feel more unique than CoD 1+UO and 2, but believe me, there's a good reason why Red Orchestra 1 and 2 and Return to Castle Wolfenstein+Enemy Territory are the better unique competitors.
Still, this game and its predecessor better not shut down their servers anytime soon. After all, they may get an unexpected renaissance.
Not even close to the best WWII shooters, is pretty much one of the more bland and featurless of them
