Thanks for this video, i go to my oral boards on Wednesday for CPD, and i was nervous. After writing down your questions and coming up with my own answers, i feel confident i will pass and be offered a conditional job.

Why is the answer always no to write ur mom a ticket ?

Last one I heard was saying you’re always trying to catch up to the newest methods of crime prevention (cyber security and you’re taking classes) but that feels like a flat out lie.

Would you ticket you mom ? The answer no ? But they wanna know i will treat all the same way ! Am i right ? Shouldn't say yes because she was speeding and put herself and others in danger !?

On a personal level I'd arrest my mom lol rough childhood. But my answer would be yes regardless, if anyone is endangering the community because they think they can get away with it they deserve a citation. That's just my opinion hopefully I don't fail because of that.

I dont understand the write your mom a ticket question, wouldnt they want you to not give people special treatment?

I'm really nervous. I have an interview next week Wednesdays and not sure what kinds of questions they may want. They did give a generalized idea of what questions they maybe going to be asking. Luckily, I have military background, but not sure how far that will go for them to want to pick me.

I am really confused on why you are supposed to say you wouldn't wright your mom a ticket. isn't loyalty to the agency more important than family loyalty in there eyes? I don't understand.

My mom? I would give her a warning to be sure I did do something fair.

Why do you want to be a police officer ? Is it ok to answer, more than A job, i see it as a career in law enforcement and hope someday I will be in a senior position in this department?

Great stuff, but one note. Absolutely do not try to make your weaknesses a positive. DO NOT say you're a perfectionist. They see right through that bullcrap. Come up with a weakness that is a true weakness that can be overcome. For example, if you live in an area with a lot of Spanish speakers, say that you lack that language skill but you wish to improve it.

I had my Oral board interview today and I feel horrible after leaving it. None of the questions I had prepared for were asked. I was truthful about a time a tried a drug over 10 years ago when I was super young when they asked about drugs and they said “why didn’t you list that drug on your application” I didn’t think I had to because I was like 16 years old, I was young and dumb and peer pressured. I feel super discouraged.

Is there any way to prepare for the scenario based part? I struggled with this as I wasn't sure how to answer in my first law enforcement interview a few months ago. I have a second one coming up soon and just trying to better prepare.

In all your video was really well put, just wished I had these questions but didn’t.

Beware some agencies (like mine) didn’t ask ANY of these, not one came up. Practiced for 2 weeks with what should’ve been the regular questions and was completely taken off guard. Couldn’t even explain about who I am or why I want to go this route.
Just be prepared that ANYTHING could come up.
