Also yes, the developers of Halo 2 were insane. Halo 2's development was honestly really impressive, because Bungie had been working on it since Combat Evolved had been released, and then Microsoft gave them a deadline of Fall 2004 and they realized that they simply didn't have enough time to finish what they had been working on. It was a choice between starting over with ten months of development time left, or releasing a sub-par game, and you can probably tell just by the amount of cut content that they chose the former option and developed the whole damn thing in ten months.
