Hello...Just a FYI you can NOT restore a basic UDM Pro to a UDM Pro SE. FFS UGH!
Ответитьit does not let me see or choose where the back up file goes. if it is downloading the back up to the cloud, would I find it once i attempt to restore?
ОтветитьSo, I have a problem, my old UDM Pro was bricked, impossible to boot up but now I have a new one. How can I restore from the old cloud backup to the new one?
I can't find anywhere on UI-account to download the cloud stored backup, which is pretty essential isn't it?
Any thoughts ?
Nice. Was helpful.
ОтветитьHello, I have a udm pro that has some type of hardware issue. We purchased a new udm pro and each time we try to restore our backup file from our old udm pro it says invalid backup file. I assumed it was because our new firewall needed updated. So we updated to 1.11 and now we cannot see a restore option?!?!
ОтветитьI only have access to the autobackup from the dream machine pro. Will I be able to restore to the network switches and protect with that file?
Ответитьwhat's diff between backup in top level gear settings from portal, and backup in 'network' settings? same thing?
ОтветитьHow can I restore Unifi Network Controller for the dream machine as " *unifi " file format ? I will not restore it as " .unf " format. Thx
ОтветитьYou didnt show which backup file to save... the .unf, or the .json? Please explain
ОтветитьThank you soooo much. Totally borked my login credentials after firmware update, had to reset. Backup file stored on my server worked perfectly. Just could not figure out the UI for grabbing the backup file and uploading.
ОтветитьGreat job with explaining the pre/post procedures. Thanks
ОтветитьFantanstic tutorial
My question is
What are the main instances when the backup wont work?
If backup was made on old controller and will it work on newer one?
If backup was made on an old controller and the device firmware is updated will it work?
Fantastic tutorial(s)! I just migrated from my USG to the UDM-Pro in literally 10 minutes
ОтветитьHello, Thanks for the guide. I have restored a 4P Pro that failed in the same location. I have a customer that I am replacing a USG 4P with a UDM Pro. I have a backup from the 4p that I want to restore to the UDM Pro prior to taking it onsite. Is this possible by utilizing the internet connection of my business as a temporary connection. I understand that once the configuration is restored with the static IP from my customer that I will lose Internet Connectivity and my internal subnet will change. Do you think there will be any complications with this method? Basically, restoring the customer's config offsite and then delivering and installing pre-configured?
ОтветитьExcellent video on how to backup and restore using the old settings(sometimes they are the better settings) and the restoral went great even with a slight problem with the IP addresses for the AP's and how you addressed it. I need to reset my UDM Pro because of the problem with the latest UDM Pro updates and this is a very quick way to restore. I will be working on this later today. thanks again for such a COMPLETE walkthrough.
ОтветитьThank you for this good video.
Does an restore via ssh/cli is also possible?
I asked becuase my GUI isn't starting any longer. All services working except the GUI.
This is a fantastic tutorial. I’m ready to pull the trigger and go all in with Unify. I’ll definitely be saving this video...
ОтветитьThanks for making the video. I just did my restore yesterday and works.
Question: How can you completely turn off wifi during certain hours? Basically, keep the wired network up and running, but completely disabling any wifi signal.
Just been looking at the backup settings on my UDM Pro. In the old interface under Backup/Restore there is an option to download backups for varying time periods. If I select 'Last 7 Days' and hit <Download File> a file is saved to my browsers download location. Am I correct in thinking that although backups are scheduled to take place on a daily basis at a specified time, these backups are stored on the UDM Pro not on my PC, so if my UDM Pro was to go 'pop' one day I should be manually downloading a backup file each day to my PC ? Seems a very odd way of going about things. Why not backup to the attached PC automatically ?
