I have a friend in Germany whom I have known close to a year now. He visited Canada for a business trip last year, and we met via dating app. Funny enough, I was still heartbroken by other guy at that time. He was sincerely listening to me and comforting me. So even after he went back to Germany few days after, we became close friends via whats app. With a firm promise not to develop feelings for each other. If one of us develops feelings for the other, the friendship will be over I said. He agreed and even reassured me that such thing will not happen.

He has a very kind soul and always has been there for me no matter what. Even when I was at my worst, he would still be there for me despite of the time difference etc. We also had plenty of fights and put up with each other thinking that it is a good thing that we are only friends.

He recently visited me for vacation, and we had such a beautiful time together. He played “Wolke 4” when we were driving. I liked the song although I had to ask him what the song was about.. haha
I added bunch of random songs, and this was one of them. I still needed him to explain what the songs were about.

Throughout the vacation, I ended up confessing my feelings for him. I knew this was not what we agreed on…. I had to deny all these feelings to sustain this friendship… I guess I was foolish to think that I can pretend.

He cried for me. He cried so much until he left to Germany. I knew what his tears meant. We do care for each other, just at different temperatures… The truth is that I could not pretend that I was okay. So I told him that I needed some time from him..

So painful going through days without him..
I miss him very much, and want to have him in my arms..but I can’t damage this friendship further than right now.
This song makes me very emotional since it reminds me of he and I.
I hope the time heals us eventually. Then perhaps we will be okay without each other…
