Fender wins big time. And it must be made in the USA, no copy I have ever heard sounded sweet like the original.

The Fender sounds more as a rock guitar should sounds to me. But then, I love the effortless singing of the Ibanez at the end.

I quit comparing different makes of guitar a long time ago. I use the guitar that looks cool to me and plays great which is Ibanez. I had a Squire that I loved but I always picked my Ibanez up to play 90% of the time. It felt more natural to play and got the tone I wanted with very little adjustments to my amp or the guitar. My Squire, I had to mess with to get the sound I wanted and never got it exactly.

Come over and have the 100 Fin in the woods who is sounding the horn. You would get something with a tremolo and a good guy guitar. Other guitar does not have clear play-ability, but certainly can play it. Improvement is having more pickups and 5 levels switch and longer neck, but it should have a drawback. Tuning tremolo seemed to be hard task, which could make a guitarist to lose interest in playing if have to tune it often before surfing.

As someone who's mechanically inclined but currently playing no instrument, the Fender sounds good, but its hardware looks like cheap, stamped metal, especially the bridge. Ibanez seems to put higher quality there, so I'd suppose also in the electronics.

Now I know that's likely subjective, as so many great guitarists play Fender, so is there anything to my impression? Anyone?

Just change the pickups.

I play Ibanez because Satriani does. If Satriani had played a washboard, I’d be playing that. I prefer teles over strats. I can’t coax the mojo from a Strat. But I can from an Ibanez or a tele

I have both and like them both.

The Fender seems to “ring” or “sing” more. More texture and nuances to the tone.

My God, what a difficult choice.
Both excellent and love the humbucker possibility..... but the Strat had in some parts more "edge" imho.
Question about the playability: are they on the same level, or is the RG on top on this one?

Love both the Stratocaster with single coil pickups and the Ibanez with the humbuckers. Personally I would use the Ibanez just for the fact I play mostly metal.

Strat was cleaner throughout. The Ibanez had some dissonant overtones on some notes. May just be the pickups. Ibanez makes beautiful guitars. I have lots of Strats on my wall so I'm biased.

My Little Schecter nick Johnston play better than both...... I own 1 of each.... Love the Schecter best... cant believe Im saying that.....

I have both of these guitars and I use them for different applications but if I had to toss one overboard it would be the Fender. I fell in love with the entire Ibanez RG series and I have most of them including a UV and a JEM. My favorite RG of all time is my 1991 RG560 because I like having two single coils with a bridge humbucker. The Wizard neck simply feels like musical sex to me and the only other neck that can even compare to the wizard is the prestige neck that comes on guitars like the JS (Joe Satriani) signature models which I also have.

The Fender is like a really nice Chevy.
The Ibanez is like slipping into a formula one race car.

Honestly ya need both for different reasons. If you can only afford one and need a workhorse guitar obviously the Strat is the way to go until you can afford the other.

I have both and in my experience i feel that there's nothing like an Ibanez. In many cases you can them for cheap and they sound anything but cheap. Will always recommend Ibanez over a strat

You gotta make your vibrato match the song tempo. That boing sound does not represent the talent you possess. Good videos youngster.

Ibanez wins this one - it especially shined on the blues but won every round. Every guitar is different though.
