Well you can’t just start chatting with strangers. You need to know people to get invited to a group chat. Sometimes you’ll see content creators share public links, but these are normally heavily moderates. I found my way to discord from friends on other apps and irl friends from my college. It can be dangerous for young teens because predators like to groom people on there. There’s not much that can be done by parents aside from educating their kids about how there are people online who will use them.

Yeh theres this cool thing you can do if someone is trying to be inappropriate with you, called blocking them. And of its really bad, just tell an adult

on discord you need a user id to add a friend unless you are in servers which in that case you can turn a setting off (forgot what its called) so that people in the same servers as you cant message you. but on instagram or snapchat or facebook you can message people without them being your friend. and 2 if your so scared of discord then dont use it. and to that lady with the 18 month old kid. 1. 18 month old kids probably dont know how to text. 2. he could do the same with any other social media app.
