ОтветитьCant be stuffed
Ответитьnot a redneck, but i am a bogan or a yob
ОтветитьPeople who came here to test their knowledge on how many they know
ОтветитьIm surprised how many of these are also canadian slang with the same meaning
ОтветитьDidn't know how much Australian slang we used here in Canada until now lol
Ответитьtwo more that I was taught since moving here: 1) TOGS = Swimmers/swimwear 2) Thongs = Flip flops
ОтветитьChokky- sounds like Hungarian ... short form of "csokoládé" is "csoki"
ОтветитьI was surprised that "yeah, nah" and "nunya" weren't on here! The omission of much, uh, ruder terms are more understandable, even if for educational purposes, lol. I swear like a sailor now because of my Aussie husband, let's just put it that way lmao
ОтветитьBarbie???? Barbecue????
ОтветитьWINE in a aluminium bag, eg; once, keeping it cold in the river has ruined the cardboard box,is called "A BROADMEADOWS BRIEFCASE". The outer Northern suburb, is Broadmeadows, or just "Broady". V.V.Lower-Class, residents generally achieve nothin'.
ОтветитьNice video ❤❤❤❤
Ответить👍👌👍
ОтветитьFunny enough, a Daks in my language (Cebuano) means a hung guy or having a big dick 😆
ОтветитьIn Canada we have a few of the same slang terms. For Goon, we call it "Cardboardeau". Thanks for this so much. I have Aussie friends and want to learn the slang to keep up.
ОтветитьBeen away from Australia since 1991 but as soon as you said booze bus knew what it was guessing ahahahahha
ОтветитьBathers??Togs
ОтветитьLove from Canada ❤️
ОтветитьIs cooker from Australian origin?
ОтветитьG'day Pete. My example sentence is; Learning Aussie slang is defo hard yakka but it is fun experience. Catch ya later!!!
ОтветитьNow explain root 😂
ОтветитьYou missed some wonderful terms like "Arse Bandit" to describe an Aussie Rules Footballer, or "Bunnings Premium Customer" to describe an Aussie Cricketer.
ОтветитьSo many of those slang words are almost everyday use here is the UK
Ответитьa billy is also what we call bongs, and ciggarettes are also more commonly known as durries or fags, and boof head is also more common than saying someone is a dag.
ОтветитьHi, Pet. Add slang words a tourist and an aborigine. Thank you.
ОтветитьI'd say hens cackle when they've just laid an egg. When they start clucking , they've stopped laying and want to sit on eggs. Hence a broody hen is a clocker in Scotland and northern England ( they're clockin' ). So I think that's where the clucky = wanting a family comes from.
ОтветитьAlso I don’t really use those words but also we say that’s sick
ОтветитьCame here because of stray kids. Just kidding I’m Aussie
Ответитьor chokkas short for choc a bloc
Ответитьmate a bogan'll be the first cunt to get ya runnin again on the side of the road, bogans rule!
Ответитьa few varied more local terms for the long drop toilets can be:
a "long drop"
"alright im going to go use the long drop"
a "pothole"/"hole"
"alright im gonna use the bloody long drop up there, leave it for a solid 10 minutes after i come back out"
another for just toilet which is shared for british can be "loo"
"im just going to the loo, so i'll be a few minutes"
Onestly, I love your voice
ОтветитьLove the enthusiasm
ОтветитьI'm literally here because my Girlfriend confuses me with her Aussie slang.
ОтветитьThanks a lot about your great lesson I'd rather you taught us more about it coz i wanna speak fluently as well i was based on American accent what i do understand is that aussie is the best that's why i wanna level up my level so you as a teacher keep up the good work
ОтветитьFun fact; cop is an acronym for constables on patrol
Ответитьyou look like a thumb
ОтветитьChrissie, "this one is probably pretty obvious"... Nooooo, It's not obvious at all mate haha
Great video! Thanks!
...but am I a dag for having choccy bikkie din-dins in my flanno the other night?
ОтветитьGood 👍 thanks 🙏
ОтветитьWe say bail, a beauty, (a ciggy- if u are being cute) the same way in the US ☺️ We also use Deadset but we use it in a different way. We would say "he's deadset on going to the beach" meaning he won't change his mind. They are serious about whatever they are doing. "She's deadset on buying that Mercedes" like she's NOT changing her mind.
ОтветитьI like the fact that slang is used on pretty official objects here, at train stations in Adelaide there's signs telling people to not be a "fare bludger"
ОтветитьOh mate u forget the biggest word. Dodgy
ОтветитьFound this list on an Aussie blog post. Great job ya’ bludger! I still love your channel though, don’ take this too serious mate.
ОтветитьYou often hear in Australia the term "joint" which refers to someone's residence. Someone will say "why don't you come over to my joint this arvo". So it's not just a reference to pot. Lol
ОтветитьYEEE M8, SHE’LL BE ALLROIGHT
ОтветитьWhere's ole mate down the back choofing on a ciggy budgie smugglers another word for speedos ducking down the servo for a maggot bag AKA meat pie and put some dead horse on it AKA tomo or bbq sauce ole matey
Ответить
