Kind of a shame you went from bottom of the barrel and skipped right over the $100 - $200 segment where many decent, non-junk radios live, including ones of reputable brands.
$300 is already getting in the expensive territory if you just care about a functional stereo that isn't anything special.

I have the 7039b version of that radio 😂😂 Android auto and carplay plus phone mirroring which is nice, however android auto jacka the units brightness making it almost unusable 😂 and there's a very minor hiss/static in the audio.

my brother bought the pioneer head unit and it sounded awful. he bought the same kenwood one, and it's night and day difference

I miss aftermarket AV systems. Got a 2017 Honda just before the pandemic and it has an OEM headunit that cannot be replaced. Sadly sold most of my gear and deal with the awful interface.

1 hour later, and I can see outside, it is night Time!

All of these stereos with Bluetooth are complete pieces of junk begin with mp30 only 13% of what a real compact disc player sounds like secondly the electronics are not going to be very discreet in those types of machines you're better off to a chosen a Panasonic or an Alpine companies that believe in putting real little Electronics in their machines you nothing but an idiot to throwing away his money for nothing

Just found this and noticed that the rundown of the models at the end shows the Pioneer model when rating the Kenwood. But hey can look that up. Great reviews though. I'm waiting for me to get off my butt and fix the broken crankshaft issue (perhaps a 3UZ might work better 🙄) then I can sort out the old stereo and my busted CAI. Missing my MX5/Miata

Would having a touchscreen radio like this would the antennae in the back still work because I would love to have a radio with CarPlay but I still like having my antenna go up and down when it’s off and on?

the kenwood was an actual tablet. The other 2 were bluetooth transceivers with screens on them.

My Nissan Titan uses my head unit as the display for my backup camera, do any of these support that feature?

This is actually one part of car modification/ upgrades that i have always been pretty passionate about. in general, sub 100$ you are going to want to go analog instead of touch screen. I have a hand made analog head unit, thing has a built in amp. It wont supply like a stand alone amp will, but its more than enough for what i wanted, especially since i dont have room for kickers in my elantra. I bought the thing for like <150 bucks, and the audio quality change was night and day. Crisp clean highs, lows that i could actually hear and feel, bluetooth connectivity that worked reliably, a usb port for charging or to dowload songs onto a thumb drive and play them off of the head unit. satellite, am, fm, aux, usb, firm connection car play, bluetooth, functioning eq and balance/ fade controls, working amp, and its got controllable rgbs. Cant ask for much more paying sub 150 usd for something that well built.

The head unit has lived through 3 separate vehicles, lasting longer than all of them now.

THE CRAZIEST PART?! it's from the most controversial brand in the entire car audio industry: BOSS.

First the infotainment centers are dangerous, you must take eyes off road to use. I prefer older style cd players that I can operate without looking, by feel. I do not want to scroll screens I want every option easy fast and safe, and new cars systems are the worst. I work for dealer and hate new cars, to much BS to distract from the job at hand, DRIVING. When I have to go 3 screens deep to turn on AC or radio it is useless. Simple is better. knobs or buttons for ac separate from radio and any other car controls. I can drive my older camry operate every option it has many it is XLE with out ever taking eyes off road as every item has its own controls I can feel for the proper button switch or dial

Reminds me of the time in my autotech class I needed a radio for my tiny car and my friend offered a head unit with the harness and even hooked it up to a car battery to show it works I payed him about $17 for the whole thing and 5 for the remote it was a Sony head unit he even showed me how to install it and the basics.

got my headunit 2 week ago its a pioneer but a cheaper version of what you have in the video ( basicly the same but with out applecar play ) and its great also help my sound in the car since the old dident have eq or cut off so i couldent set it so the sub plays lows and rest play mids and highs so it really destryed the sound of the otherwise great speaker setup. although i have smaller car ( suzuki ignis) so when i say sub i really mean under seat subs (1 under driver and 1 under passenger seat) but that is only because my car is so small that a full sizes sub would be to much space to give away, but for under seat subs they really do sound great, not as great as a proper subs but much better then just the normal car speakers that is otherwise in the car :D
